“A good place to stay in chiang mai”

This is a first class hotel. It is new and clean. The decor is quite modern, which might not be to everyone's taste. It has a nice restaurant with quite good food which is reasonably priced by international standards, but probably high for chiang Mai. The staff were helpful. However, the information they provided often was inaccurate or out of date and generally useless. This would be my only complaint.

“Thai hospitality at its best!”

From personalized check-in to attentive, prompt service and assistance , the staff at the dusitD2 surpassed many of my expectations. The hotel is conveniently located across the Night Martket and closed to the old city center. The breakfast buffet was excellent and an upgrade to the executive club was a welcome add-on with free wine/beer from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and access to a private concierge. I would recommend to my fellow world travelers to stay at the dusitD2 when in Chiang Mai.

“Highly recommended”

An excellent hotel, very helpful and friendly staff. We were on the fourth floor. No views but room was a good size with nice bathroom and quiet air conditioning, which is a plus. King size bed was comfortable with a choice of pillows. Didn't eat at hotel (too many other choices outside) but restuarant and bar looked very inviting. For comfort and position this hotel is recommended.

Area recommendations

Hotel right across from the night market bazaar. This market is mainly for the tourists. Has a food court which has a wide choice of good, cheap food. There is also a very good seafood place called Sila Aat. The fish/seafood is excellent and the staff great, Highly recommended. Hotel within walking distance of many cafes/bars and markets, the old town walls and canal. The Saturday and Sunday walking street markets are a mind blowing shopping experience. Use the tuk tuks to get around if yur don't feel like walking, the drivers are friendly and not so bothersome as the ones in Bangkok. Chiang Mai is a great place and a trip to the Golden Triangle is well worthwhile

“Highly recommend”

We were upgraded to the club level without requesting it. It included many additional benefits. Our only complaint, which is minor, is that the club floor did not have coffee available 24 hours a day and coffee in room was not replenished. Front desk, lobby and dining staff were extremely helpful and courteous. We throughly enjoyed our six night stay.

“Good serviced hotel in Chiangmai”

Hotel was in center of very busy street and staff was extremely helpful and kind. Food at hotel was good, but little late coming out. Room I stayed #911 did not had bathtub, but just shower, but it was clean and room was clean too. Bedding was very comfortable, but there is no view. Lounge at 7th floor had great staff and was very helpful, but there isn't much to eat........

When to go

I went Sept. 29 to Oct. 2, and it was mostly raining......... No rafting, mountain bike was little dangerous, and green at golf was full of air holes.........

“Excellent - with a different twist”

Very stylish, with a number of fun gimmicks. Service almost over the top (but so nice!), and things like the happy hour + the very reasonable room rate, made this a real find. Proximity to night market fantastic!

“Fun, Modern Hotel in Chiang Mai”

This hotel has a very nice location to maneuver the city well. The accomodations are very nice and luxurious. The bathrooms could have used a bit more cleaning (especially around the tiling). The staff is excellent and great to work with. There were wonderful drink specials at the Moxie Bar downstairs, which we took advantage of every night! Word of warning: Be sure to know whether or not your booking includes breakfast or not. We assumed ours did and you can imagine our surprise when it showed up on our hotel bill - and it's not that cheap!
