Super late check in but there wasn't a problem with that. Free upgrade from deluxe room to suite. Room was really clean and AC worked perfectly. Internet was really fast. My only complaint was that the shower door's hinge was loose, thus not allowing the shower to close all the way (room 606). Water dropped out as a result.
The hotel has a slightly overpriced spa which smelled great. The top floor is an amazing gym with a remarkable view of the city. Location of the hotel is great - very central in the city and all the can , minibuses, and tuk tuks know it. Highly recommended!

Great location, near all the temples and local sights. Right on the east edge of the wall/moat of the old city. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast. Only downside if the typical high internet costs for Thailand's hotels.

We really loved our stay at the Lotus, so much so that when we went to a new hotel outside of town we stayed only one night and then returned to Pang Suan Kaew. Rooms were absolutely beautiful, especially for how reasonable a price as we payed. We were expecting a hotel, and I feel that the Lotus could pass for a resort. There's a beautiful and impressive lobby, great swimming pool, large rooms and wonderful staff. My fiancé and I are glad that we got to stay in Chiang Mai so long in part because of how comfortable we were in this hotel. You're not far from the old city and it's only a 5-10 minute ride to most anywhere you want to go. The only down side at all is that internet is not included and is very pricy, however there's an abundance of coffee shops with free wifi across the street and within the Pang Suan Kaew shopping mall that the hotel is attached to.
For a quick, cheap, and delicious meal try the Thai food court on the bottom floor of the mall. Spicy Yam salads are made right in front of you for less than a dollar!
For £20 a night this hotel is amazing- big rooms, complimentary drinks and nibbles, clean and quite. The breakfast was just what you needed. Only downside was the sauna and stream room, but its hot enough anyway. Close to the night bazaa as well.
