“excellant pool”

The hotel has two pools, but the main one is quite large. The water temperature was just right. Area around the pool was well maintained. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which had a nice assortment and made to order omelets. My only complaint would be that the shower was either too hot or too cold. Overall-a very nice plave. On site travel agent was very helpful

“great hotel”

We stayed here in early Feb 2009 during the flower festival. The room was very nice, the staff very helpful, and the buffet breakfast was delicious. Only problem we had was the shower-it was either hot or cold. We think this is a Thailand issue vs hotel as we had the same situation at other hotels.

“Very goog deal for the price you pay”

Since I arrived to the hotel, everything was ok. For the price of the room is what you can expect from it. This hotel has a very important feature and is the swimming pool. Maybe the location isn't the best (its a little bit far away from the city) but if you are looking fro a calm place, with good food or a reasonable price, well, this is it.

“Not bad, bit out the way...get breakfast”

You can tell this is an old hotel and its location is not great, however the staff are nice, service is good and its easy to get tuktuk to and from the city.

“Great place to stay”

We stayed here in August 2008 for one week. The style of the hotel is a little dated but very comfortable. The staff are lovely and cant do enough to help. The pool area and grounds are extremely well kept and the breakfasts are just awesome. It takes a 5min Tuk Tuk ride to the centre of town. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Amari

“Good comfortable hotel in quite area”

I would stay there again. A bit far from downtown and the night bazaar but overall had a comfortable stay. Close to good restaurants.

“not 3 1/2 stars”

When this was built in the 70s I bet it was a 3 1/2 or even 4 star hotel. It is no longer. The staff are very friendly, the room is in reasonable shape, the breakfast was pretty good - but the hotel is dated, a bit worn. They're doing the best they can to keep it up, but it's rough around the edges. I just stayed at 4 star boutique hotels in bangkok for only slightly more a night - I'm definitely disappointed by this hotel, but it's decent, just not 3 1/2 stars, not at all. Part of it is the design and decor - that 70s bleached wood, aquamarine and pink look just seems depressing in this day and age.
