In need of guidance

Posted 16-Mar-2015
Quite highly priced considering no breakfast included. Did not properly replenish tea/coffee tray nor toiletries. Charged an extra £3.60 for dark rum in a Mojito. This wasn't explained or a choice offered. However, the Manager made amends with 2 more complimentary Mojitos. This was casually mentioned whilst he was fixing the standard lamp in our room which had spontaneously fallen apart. (It was actually hanging off the stand when we arrived).

Just Superb

Room was ultra modern, spacious , fantastic views with freestanding bath, beautiful duck egg blue leather suite. It was total luxury. The breakfast was best quality with attentive staff and excellent views of Chester race track. The Abode is simply one of the best hotels with the very best staff.

Second visit to Abode-Chester. This hotel has a great image and a unique appearance inside and out. I have recommended to several friends and family and I am attending again this evening. Guys.... This is deal sealer.

Very comfortable bed. Staff on reception were very friendly. I didn't use the barrow restaurant so can't comment on that aspect of the hotel.

Probably my favourite hotel in the UK

Posted 29-Dec-2014
Pros: This is a luxury hotel. It oozes class.
Cons: Reception staff
Location: Slap bang in the middle of Chester City Centre but not near any of the noisy student pubs. The Roodee is right across the road for horse racing fans.
Watched this hotel being built when my daughter was a student in Chester. It opened a few months before her graduation and we stayed at the hotel then and have stayed several times since. But recently, every visit is marred by some niggling problem. This time it was the complete lack of hot water and the complete lack of any sort of apology.

Fabulous stay on Christmas Eve

Posted 27-Dec-2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Absolutely nothing, everywhere was spotless even the public toilets! The staff seemed to know what was needed and where, excellent people!
Location: We love chester and we right by the race course and river so near the main city yet away from the hustle and bustle!
Very easy to park, then from underground car park straight up to beautifully appointed hotel! Staff couldn't have been more friendly or efficient, booking in very simple and quick, hotel room had wall of glass letting in natural light felt more like an apartment than a room! Fabulous sleep then Christmas Day fantastic breakfast! One of the best stays we have had in a hotel! Would totally recommend to all!

Great hotel but "no" beer

Posted 24-Dec-2014
Pros: Everything but the bar
Cons: The bar choices
When arriving for diner the bar service seemed great with at least five draught beers on view. However the two that I requested were off. Later I saw a fellow resident drinking Guinness-not available in the downstairs bar either !!!!
