“Excellent hotel !”

We have just had our third visit to the Park Royal - we used to live nearby - and it remains an excellent choice for us. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food good and the hotel is very nicely presented throughout. If you have the opportunity there is a superb spa with a big swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. We got the best deal via Expedia - it included a full buffet breakfast. We had room service one evening rather than go out to eat and it arrived quickly and was very good. Unusually for such a hotel they have Timothy Taylor Landord bitter on in the bar - I can recommend it! We will definitely be going back to the Park Royal on our next visit to the area - one of our favourite hotels!

“Comfortable hotel, friendly service.”

All staff are friendly & helpful. The swimming pool is nice & warm. The room was comfortable, clean & tidy. The surrounding areas are quiet & green with lots of open space. We were asked to change room on 2nd day because a family required our room which was part of a intercommunicating room. The staff gave us a nice, upgraded room which was even more comfortable. We wanted to join the Easter Sunday worship service in a nearby church & asked for a later check-out time. The staff made no fuss.

“Perfect Location”

Hotel was excellent. Staff were courteous and helpful. Food was excellent. What really impressed us was the use of the gym/pool that were avialable to us within the price. Location was ideal for what we were looking for. The only negative was that the cleaners had a tendency to leave all of the fire doors open when cleaning the rooms in the morning. At times they were left open all day.

“A good experience”

Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. We were attending a Wedding there and the decor, food and service were excellent. Our room was lovely too. Didn't have a chance to try the pool and spa unfortunately.

“Best around”

Stayed in this hotel a few times and it never really has any problems, on the times we have the staff have been very helpful. We will be going their again soon, and would say its the best around.

“Disappointing”

This hotel had very high results and reasonable rates, so it was chosen for a stag do of 9 people. It was very clean and stylish set in relatively quaint surroundings, although it did feel like a traveller's rest type of hotel, rather than 4 star accommodation with perfect reviews. I expected much more and maybe that is why I'm reviewing harshly. Here's a rundown of the problems:- 1. We booked 5 rooms for 9 people- 4 with twin beds and 1 double. This was clearly marked on the receipt, however, the hotel managed to mix this up giving us 4 doubles and 1 twin. They found a spare twin room, but two rooms had to make do with a cot. Hardly 4 star. This was especially disappointing since one would think that hotels could book their rooms out efficiently. Apparently not. 2. Massively overpriced in my opinion. £4+ for a bottle of beer seems steep and the food was overpriced nouveau cuisine (with the exception of the burger). 3. At the meal, had to chase the waiters down to ask for the bill and then chase them down to give them money. Irksome since it was over £250 for the meal and some members of the party needed to use their cards. One positive was the chips that came with the burger. The party concluded they were the most glorious food since sliced bread.
