“Great location, just a bit tired”

The hotel is in a fab location in Chester town centre. Chester itself is really quaint too. The hotel is a little tired. The water pressure on the 3rd floor rooms is awful so try for a lower floor if you like a decent shower. Breakfast was good.

Shopping
Shopping in Chester is awesome. Lots of independents but also all the essential main chain stores.
Dining
Joseph Benjamin in the town centre is a great little bistro!
Nightlife
Red Door, the bar below the MacDonald hotel is supposed to be a very good late bar.

“FAB WEEKEND”

We parked in NCP car park 5 mins around corner from hotel (£11.50 for 3 days). Arrived at hotel to very pleasant & helpful staff & went straight to room 313 which was fabulous , large corner room and lovely sized bathroom and it was spotless with a lovely comfy bed . The location of the hotel was so convenient to everything , shopping , restaurants & bars ,the walls & the river !We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will definately be back x

“Save yourself some money and stay somewhere else”

Being a Macdonald hotel I was expecting exactly the opposite to what we got. On arrival, the lift was out of order and our room was on the second floor with heavy luggage to carry. There was no air conditioning in the room and as it was a front facing room during a heatwave we were unable to open the window due to excessive street noise. The room itself was small and the bathroom was minute. The shower screen was fixed which meant you had to physically get into the shower area to turn the shower on - I was expecting to get drenched in cold water but the water pressure was so low it barely trickled out. We ordered a newspaper which did'nt get delivered!

“I'll stay there again if I came back to Chester.”

Exellent situation of the hotel, in the city center of Chester. Perfect to go shopping in the rows, visit the cathedral or just walk around the city. Bedrooms are clean and very confortable. The hotel has a restaurant and a lounge bar. Both have a modern decoration maintaining the traditional aspects. I strongly recommend this hotel.

Area recommendations
Shopping at the rows, Cathedral and cruise river. This last one takes only 30 minuts but is the best way to see Chester from another point of view. Worht the money , around 6 pounds per person.

“Excellent Hotel but can be noisy”

The hotel was excellent but be aware that if your room is at the front it can be noisy due to nearby night club.

“Great place to stay”

We spent one night here and thorougly enjoyed the hotel. Just outside the walled city of Chester. Easy walking distance to everthing. The room was large compared to so many of the hotels and B&Bs we stayed at during this trip to England. What a treat! The breakfast was excellent in the hotel`s large dining.
