“Fantastic Place, Would be certain to go back..”

Overall a Very Impressive Hotel with Fantastic Facilities. Was in 2 minds on which Hotel to book, between the Crowne Plaza and the Abode.. Both Hotels cost roughly the same for a nights stay but the Crowne Plaza has the benefit of a Pool, Sauna, Steam Room & Jacuzzi all for free!!!! It is only 2min walk from town. Overall this Hotel has left a good impression and I will be certain to visit again without hesitation..

“Great location, incredible service.”

My husband and I sent a night in this hotel in December 2010. The location was fantastic, right in the middle of the shops and beautiful buildings. The lobby and rooms appeared quite dated, but everything was very clean and in working order. The font desk staff were the friendliest I have ever encountered! They were very helpful and made our stay seem a bit more special.

“Nice Hotel but poor service at busy times”

On arrival to the hotel we were delayed for 2.5 hours on entering our room. When we did enter our first room it was a family adjoining room that had noise issues. The hotel staff were helpful but we then had to switch rooms which was a little frustrating having spent 2.5 hours waiting to get into our room. Further to switching rooms , 2 pieces of our luggage were 'lost' in the room switch overs which caused a half hour delay on our evening plans. Overall the hotel was very clean , the food was very nice and the staff were very helpful but it seems at busy times the service is compromised.

“A great place to stay”

Very enjoyable. Everything met expectation and staff were all very helpful. The leisure facilities were great, superior to other 4* hotels I have visited. Hotel near main road so easy access but NO noise from traffic and view of the Welsh Hills. Centrally placed so able to walk to everything of interest in Chester.

“Convenient hotel for City Centre of Chester”

The position of the hotel in relation to the venue we were attending was ideal. But the main hotel entrance (lower ground) is a dark and depressing area overshadowed by a multi storey car park alongside and below the hotel. The hotel itself is above the entrance road and this adds to the low natural light. The main reception is a lift ride above the entrance (and this seems odd). Floors of hotel rooms are yet more lift rides up. We found the staff extremely helpful. The room was clean, of good size and had the essentials of daily needs. There was only one bathrobe supplied but we did not bother to get a second as we were only staying one night One bath towel was past its best - thin and starting to shred slightly.Breakfast was a wide offering of English through to Continental - all buffet style. Had to ask twice before we got the pot of coffee we asked for even though this was the only table service offered. Not happy about the practice of taking a credit card detail against additional services/provisions. Until I get my statement I don't know whether erroneous items have been charged against this. Would we stay there again? Yes simply because it is so convenient for the regular venue we attend. Would not like a long stay though as the lack of gardens/greenery would be unacceptable for a lengthy stay. Car parking charge applies per 24 hour period There is a variety of add-on services we did not use so cannot comment.

The staff were very friendly & helpful they very kindly upgraded our room for us without us having to ask! The buffet breakfast was very good lots of choice. The location is brilliant for the Racetrack & shopping. There is a carpark attached to the hotel aswell! We will be back again next year without doubt!
