The hotel was fine. The pool and gym were excellent. Unfortunately, on check in we asked if we could book a table for 3 people for dinner, and were told that we could book at 6.30 or 8.00. We chose 6.30. When we went to the bar for a pre dinner drink, it was packed and very noisy, with TV's everywhere. Then we were told that the restaurant was closed, and we would have to eat in the bar! It was too late to go somewhere else. We were very disappointed, and although we complained on checkout, all we got was a metaphorical "shrug of the shoulders!"

The property is a beautiful building and all the public areas lounges, etc were very lush, and eye-catching. Christmas decorations enhance the overall appearance to a very good standard .

Expected a lot but was left wanting.
It's some time since I've stayed in a de vere so was basing my expectations against that stay and I was very underwhelmed. First thing was the strange rules of no kids in the near empty pool on a Sunday night. Shower in the room led to a massive puddle in the bathroom. Found that the hot tap just kept spinning and occasionally spitting out hot water. If it hadn't been a stop over I'd have made more of it but there was no point moving rooms just to check out the next morning. Felt the service was good, the general hotel areas looked good but the room was very tired. Be prepared for a cat wandering the corridors as well.

Pleased be assured if these shortfalls had been bought immediately to our attention the team would have resolved the matter with complete satisfaction. I am sorry you did not realise our health club operates with splash times for children. I am so sorry for the inconvenience.We do advertise it on our website, reservation confirmations and explain on check in.

Staff were superb as were the pool, room, Wi-Fi and breakfast. Dinner a bit disappointing albeit staff were again excellent. Stayed with my daughter on visit to Jodrell Bank, she loved it :) Would stay again if in the area

Planned as a luxury trip to meet friends locally
we have travelled quite a lot for business particularly and would really class this hotel as an event venue rather than a luxury hotel for couples, or for expensed business purposes. Nothing particularly wrong but on the second day and night (Saturday) the hotel was like a convention center. Friday was OK and good. Marked down on environment / green practices as they replaced all towels after first night although only one handtowel used. Should not replace unless thrown in the bath!

We had a lovely welcome, reception team were great, we checked into the room then off to the health club. Again really nice, we booked an early table in the restaurant which was nice, not an amazing choice but cooked well and restaurant team were very accommodating, I had the tbone and my wife the rack of lamb. Breakfast was awful I’m afraid, the quality was poor, grey hash browns over cooked fried eggs watery scrambled eggs, ended up having just a bacon sandwich, my wife just left hungry £38 for that was very poor indeed, must say the breakfast team were efficient but we were not asked if we enjoyed the meal. Back to the room where the shower was broken, so left an unhappy guest

A lovely place to stay the grounds were lovely with squirrels everywhere,the evening meal food was beautiful and breakfast you could help yourself to however much you wanted, room was clean and substantial for what we needed, and the pool was great and quiet when we went, lovely night away would definitely go back.

Lovely stay at this hotel with my family . Enjoyed the pool and leisure facilities. Family room was spacious and clean , bed very comfortable. We opted for breakfast which had plenty of variety and food to a good standard. Grounds of the hotel were well kept .

It is a shame the rooms are mainly in the extensions that have been added on, so it lack character. The App for in-room dining did not work, so went to get a paper version. Food was good, breakfast experience was a little disappointing.

Lovely relaxing stay
We booked on morning of stay, and we were able to book in early for £15 fee, which we did. Reception staff were friendly & helpful. The room was roomy & comfortable. You could hear some noise from corridor and neighbouring rooms but not enough to be disturbing for us. We used the gym, which had good equipment that was cleaned regularly while we aware there. The setting is beautiful & the grounds were kept well. We didn’t eat at the restaurant or go to the bar so no comments regarding them.

Lovely main building with comfortable rooms
Lovely looking main building. Rooms were comfortable and fairly spacious. Check-in process was quite lengthy. Vegetarian choices on the menu were significantly limited. Shame about the fire alarm just midnight, although this was due to a guest vaping and not the hotel’s fault.
