Great hotel in good location

Posted 09-Oct-2014
Lovely hotel overlooking the racecourse and close to other attractions such as the castle. Breakfast was good quality with a decent range of choices. Comfortable bar and fairly decent gym. Although the hotel is situated near a major roundabout we didn't have any problem with traffic noise. A little confusion finding the hotel as it's actually on Grosvenor Road rather than Grosvenor Park Road as advertised on expedia.

Pros: everything
Cons: I don't know.i was very pleased with everything and would stay again.
Location: you are in walking distance to chester town centre and the river dee, the roman tours and ampi theatre and on top of the race track. also chester zoo
we only stayed for one night, room bed and breakfast. room had good facilities and was very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel. staff were very helpful and pleasant and polite. I would certainly stay again. the hotel is situated to all of chester amenities.

Nice hotel, shame about the lift next to the room

Posted 23-Sep-2014
Pros: Location and the top floor restaurant
Cons: Don't put bedrooms next to the lift or at least give a warning, discount and ear plugs! Maintenance and housekeeping need some work.
Location: great location, near racecourse, shops, bars restaurants etc
Hotel OK, room not bad, location good, breakfast great. Small bed, no toiletries, room next to lift (loud), no racecourse view, staff not bothered. Maintenance poor, the loo roll holder front fell on me in the loo and a tile dropped on the bathroom floor and my foot as i was leaving the bar bathroom.

Graduation & A Level Results Celebration

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: Location close to City Centre but not too close, nice views of the Roo Dee Race Course.
Cons: Being really picky, the cleanliness of the balcony outside the restaurant. Cigarette end, cob webbs and tissue.
Location: Great location to city centre, shopping, some roman history, walk the walls, take a boat trip on the river. Nice places to eat.
Have stayed here once before in a "desirable" room, the last time was disappointing. The room was very small with only a shower although had a balcony overlooking the race course. I was told there are two types of "desirable" room, balcony or bath. We decided to try again this time with the bath choice, taking two rooms one for my daughters who were celebrating exam success. The rooms were great with a massive bed and big bath room for the same price as last time, a lot better value. We also ate in the Michael Caines restaurant. Excellent food & very attentive and friendly staff., We will be going again.

Top quality rooms, a modern hotel with fixtures and fittings of the highest quality. excellent location overlooking the racecourse but close enough to centre with restaurants/shops only 5 mins away. Hard to see a better hotel in Chester.

An adequate but over-priced stay.

Posted 21-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
This is a very new hotel on the outskirts of Chester. It was not so easy to find by SatNav, and rather confusing to find the subterranean car park, which is an extra expense. The staff were efficient and courteous, but keen to "Sell" extras, such as breakfast and a room upgrade. I was not impressed by the breakfast either; too little for too much. I will not stay here again!

Chester's best hotel

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, Location, Location and nice rooms (pick the higher priced ones, they are the best)
Cons: Free Parking would be nice
Location: 5 minute walk to Chester Center, lots of coffee shops and places to eat… Great Location
I always stay here when I am in Chester on business, new property, good rooms and great location. Michael Caine restaurant too… Not a lot of people know that :-)

On first arrival we found the receptionist to be very unwelcoming which shocked both myself and my partner. The room I booked was supposed to be desirable well if above the the hotel entrance looking down on the main road into Chester is your idea of desirable then this hotel is for you. Very poor indeed Abode will never stay again
