“Would love to go back”
This hotel was a comfort zone in the hot city of Chennai
“Excellent value for money and superb service”
The hotel is in good orders, rooms need a bit of updating. Some of the electronics did not work (safe and refrigerator), though when pointed out they where fixed or replaced straight away. Gym and spa facilities where very good, full set of loose weights, weight machines and a multitude of treadmills and cross trainers. Spa, steam bath and sauna where cully operational and well maintained. Buffet breakfast, which was included in the rate was excellent, huge selection and very fresh.
“Horrible customer service”
the guy at the front desk was so rude. it was the worst experience in my entire life, and i am a frequent traveller, have stayed in more than 50 expensive hotels this is the first time i see such horrible people! do not risk your experience.
“Nice Hotel, I recommend, but ...”
This is a very nice hotel built on an old movie studio lot. The hallways and each room are decorated with old vintage and in some cases collectible movie posters. The one caveat to my otherwise good experience is that the hotel is visibly in need of renovation. The bathroom was probably top notch 20 years ago but now it is showing its age. The marble floors in the main lobby are showing sings of wear; which is sad for a hotel which was obviously one of the best in its day. If you do not like the night club scene then this hotel may not be for you. They have a lively and loud after hours scene that reaches throughout the common areas of the hotel; no worries in your room which was absolutely quiet. They have a really nice breakfast buffet which gave me all of the options to create an American like breakfast (or many others if I chose) which was important for me as I started my day. I did not like their room service since their english language skills were not sufficient for me to special order items or order to my preference. They were quick to deliver and were always very nice though. The concierge needs to be trained. He was a bit flip with his answer to my question regarding my reservation for a car to take me back to the airport at the end of my stay. His answer was "You don't need to worry about that" and he went on his way; I suspect that this more of a cultural misunderstanding on my part; the car was ready at 12:30am as he promised :-). Over all I would recommend.

“Welcome to Fawlty Towers........”
- It takes them over an hour to get our baby btls sterilised as they are not aware which dept is responsible for doing this. Day 2 - No hot water in the room, when asked how we sort it out we are asked to call guest services and we get hot water delivered in BUCKETS...5 star hotel!!!!!!!! - No turn down service both day 1 & 2 so call again and than its done. -Go to the pool no attendants’ after 30mins someone shows up again very indifferent have to ask for towels, no water offered...nothing....we clean our bed with a towel ourselves as it had rained and try to enjoy... Day 3 - Order food via room service for my son, takes them 2 hrs to deliver!!!!!. Call the SPA to book a treatment no one picks up, after leaving 4 msg's with guest services no one comes back so miss out on it. This was our 4th stay in this property and the property has gone to the dumps literally in the last year. All bathroom fixtures are rusted, paint peeling off, etc. Attitude of the team from being friendly & courteous has gone to indifference. Not surprising after meeting the DOR (Asst. GM) when we asked him that we would like to meet the GM are told that in case it’s to complain he is very busy with back to back meetings and won’t be able to meet him which actually happened even after we left a msg with his sec, as well sent a mail to him during our stay!Stay away!
“Modern indian Hotel”
Well spoken staff, well dressed, very clean, open, smiling. Other hotels i have stayed at in India staff linger until you tip them, this staff did not they seemed genuiney happy to assist me and my family. there are a lot of business peopel so not many people smile at you at the buffet breakfast but staff friendliness made up for that. i had 2small kids with me and they were so helpful. While we found a good rate on expedia, what i was not anticipating was the price of the food in the hotel. It is very, very expensive by Indian standards. It is set out to foreigners rather than Indians. I have been to india 8 times and this was the first time none of us got sick so quality fo food was great, but expensive. Wed nights they have BBQ night aroudn the pool and Sun morning they have brunch, so if you want to relax and eat well after being out all day in crazy indian streets this is a great place for that.
