“Great base for Chennai”
For the price a very good find. Centrally located, helpful staff, excellent inclusive breakfast and clean. Very busy but well organised. The restaurants all served excellent food, (Indian obviously), and the water in bathrooms was hot!
“Never again”
The hotel was extremely dirty. The linens had stains and appeared to have not been washed. The room itself smelled horrible and was dirty. The shower had excessive mold in it contributing further to the horrible smell.
“The best”
The Hotel is absolutely great, friendly staff from the door man to the Duty Manager etc. All the restaurants were clean, the entryto the Hotel and all Restaurants were beautifully decorated. A must visit for ant one to Chennai
“india 1”
It experience one would only experience in India
“Clean and nice hotel”
My parents and relatives stayed here and they were very happy about the hotel service and maintenance. The staffs are very good and friendly. They too keep the food items in the refrigerator and they are chargeable. Based on my parents comments, I will stay here next time.
“Good value for the money-- I would probably spend a little more and go elsewhere.”
Most people traveling in India should know/realize that 3 or 4 stars here are not the same as 3 or 4 stars in Western Standards. I was expecting the slow service. Rooftop restaurant was excellent. Gym well maintained and pool lovely as well. The windows didn't open which I really did not like, and left a musty, stagnant smell to the room. Breakfast buffet was abundant. Getting anything done quickly, as is in all of India, was not really ever an option. Check out was super speedy however. It was decent for the price. Honestly, if the windows opened (I don't care for a/c) and the room didn't smell I would have thought it just lovely.
“My first trip to India”
I book this hotel for my business trip in Chennai, my first time ever in India. Front desk staff was very nice, even so quite busy. My room was nice, comfortable. It was clean but you could tell it is a little old and in need of some upkeep, refurbishing. Free breakfast buffet was good and very busy in the morning with plenty of choice. They had a nice pool, even so very few people used it. I felt quite safe, always important for a woman traveling alone. Location was great, 10mn by auto taxi (rickshaw) from the beach and about 40mn to Trade center where I visited a trade fair. Neighborhood was safe. I used the small travel agent office located in the hotel (they are independent from the hotel) to book a driver for a full day side trip to Tirupati which was an amazing experience. Upon checking out there was some mixed up as an expensive dinner and plenty of drinks were charge to my room, but after insisting that it was not mine they took it out of my bill without too much trouble. If I go back to Chennai, will I book the same hotel? YES! Most definitively. Would I recommend this hotel? YES!
“Pleasantly surprised”
Prior to booking I went to the hotel to check it out.. Staff were friendly but the walk in rate was exhorbitant and I compared the price at Expedia which had a special offer of free night stay. Overall for the price I paid it was good and fair.
“Pathetic service. I wouldn't recommend to others.”
I wouldnt recommend this hotel. The rooms are not clean. Breakfast buffet is bad, no taste no variety but charges you at the rate of big hotels. Pay attention to your final bill. They tend to overcharge (they charged me 2 days of extra guest, whereas i had one day) and you may notice charges for some services which you didnt even avail. Simply, avoid this place, you can find better hotel for the price.
“Just enough”
We stayed for 3 nights. No trouble. Dry cleaning service (washing) was very good at very low prices. Indian restaurant was excellent. All dishes from South India were delicious! Ssatisfied our needs, except for buying a postage stamp at cashier. (They don't have it.)
