Nice hotel , very good receptionist who spoke good English.
No air con ,so had to open bedroom window which faced road overlooking a Boulangerie ,which was rather noisy in the early morning, as people pulled up to collect their bread.
Ate in restaurant both nights , food excellent , service good on first night BUT the lady in charge on our second night was most rude. When we asked for a jug of tap water (which the waiter gave us the first night ) she said " We do not have a tap in the restaurant " The same thing happened to the young couple on the table beside us. She was clearly trying to increase sales of bottled water ....that practice stopped 10 years ago.
A disappointing part of a nice hotel , she should be given a job that does not involve meeting the public........like filling up jugs of water for the waiters !
delightful manager who was extremely pleasant and helpful.
breakfast very basic but was not expensive
room was tiny but as comfortable as it could be given it's sizether rooms were larger
wooden spiral staircase may be a problem for some guests

The small and friendly Hotel Du Bellay enjoys a central location in the medieval historic center of Blois, a charming town on …More
What a unique experience to stay in such a grand hotel! The staff exceptionally meet our every need. It is old. Therefore, you will not experience life as in 2014. If you desire more of a French aristocracy life style, this is a place you might really enjoy!
This was a great hotel, with friendly, helpful front staff. Room very comfortable for 3. New, renovated washroom, loved the overhead shower nozzle. About 15 minutes walk from downtown. 5 minutes walk from the tourist information centre (where the tour busses depart for the Loire valley various castles). The only improvement would be the décor in the room (orange chair) and bumpy elevator.
The Hotel is within walking distance to the City Center. Rooms are comfortable and recently refurbished. I was just missing the Mini-Fridge in the room for a cold drink on a hot summer day. The folks at the Reception are very professional. Would recommend it.
