You get what you pay for

Posted 26-May-2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff
Cons: Extensive, extensive remodel. My room probably should not have been rented out. Beyond usable life.
Location: On a dead end hotel street. Lots of construction. Easy access to food and shopping.
Hotel is near dilapidated, without exaggeration. The bathroom condition is the worst I have ever seen. Cracked shower stall, pieces of plaster missing all over. Horrible patch caulking and paint overs. Door to room could not be closed without lifting up on door as the hinge hardware was worn and door was out of alignment. Room was sufficiently clean though. Staff was friendly. Lobby was fine with dining area and computer kiosk. Breakfast was as advertised...good enough and as expected. Courtesy newspaper. I was embarrassed to stay there and felt bad that I had my wife with me. When my daughter showed up I felt el-cheapo. Not the nicest area, lots of construction. Better Days Inn and Econolodge right next door. Would not stay there again. Beds were comfortable. Slept good and had a hot shower.

Inexpensive hotel when staying in Charlottesville

Posted 18-May-2015
Pros: Relatively inexpensive in comparison to other hotels in the area. During this time of the year ALL Charlottesville hotels increase their room rates.
Cons: Hotel officials should have given notification to all who booked rooms under the old name of "Quality Inn" prior to their arrival.
Location: A lot of things to do close by including two Presidential homes, wineries, shopping, etc,.etc
The hotel staff, facilities, cleanliness, and comfort were all OK. After many hotel stays, I have come to understand what anyone should expect while staying in a Red Roof Inn. It may not be a proper time to judge since construction was still underway during the period of my stay. The hotel was revamping the parking area and had recently changed over from a "Quality Inn" to a "Red Roof Inn."

Staff can't speak good English. Rooms don't have that cleanliness feeling. Walkways bad. Wrong bed in wrong rooms.

Inn of last resort

Posted 16-Nov-2014
The door was askew on the hinges. Very difficult to secure. Only a king room left with no roll away bed but not true. Found one in storage closet. Also, they will not apply any discounts to a "prepaid" room. Hotel needs major improvements.
