Right by a main highway, it is loud and worn down. Way overpriced.

It works for the price

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Breakfast was nice, plenty of choices and all one needs. The room was clean, but a bit shabby. Slow sink drain, worn carpet, cracked ceiling plaster, unpainted sparkle in bathroom. Had huge fridge, wished it had a small freezer to freeze our ice packs. It was okay as we didnt spend time in it except to sleep. Staff was pleasant.

This room had a lamp that had been unplugged ( not fixed) due to a broken bulb that was still in the socket. When trying to use a towel the rack fell off the wall. At different times, Several individuals came knocking on our door looking for someone.

Excellent hotel centrally located

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: Location, centrally located
Cons: Parking and lighting
Location: Centrally located to Barracks Rd Shopping Center and University of VA, about 5 minutes away. Pantops Mountain and Downtown were about 10 min driving
The hotel is centrally located to Rt 29, Rt 250, Barracks Rd and University of VA. Downtown Charlottesville and Pantops Mountain was about 10 minutes away. We were visiting for high school reunions. We thought the price was fair, and the check-in was smooth. There was a continental breakfast at the hotel. There were several restaurants, and a major grocery store within walking distance. The parking was tricky, but we managed.

Absolute terrible experience in any hotel

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: None.
Cons: Everything from the facility to staff to actually do their job to keep he place clean.
This hotel is falling apart due to lack of maintenance and the staff does not do their job. The room has many maintenance issues that we should not have to tell them to fix it (bath tub, shower, sink, TV). In addition, the room is filthy as if it has not been cleaned. The staff just changed the sheets and towels but really did not clean the bath room or the carpet. This is absolute the worst hotel that I have stayed at ever! When I complained the staff just glossed over the issues and tried to fix what they can. I really think that the place is not properly managed and the staff does not seem to care about their work.

Decent all around.

Posted 05-Aug-2014
Cons: Fix it up a bit.
Location: Very convenient to central Charlottesville. Not terribly close to downtown, but the prices are twice as high within walking distance to downtown.
No complaints. The experience was what I'd expect from a discount hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, though the facilities were in a state of disrepair. Comfortable stay, but the place is a little run down.

Nice hotel close to Univ of VA. Good value.

Pros: Clean, quiet, recently renovated and great temp control for a good price.
Cons: Improve the wi-fi, couldn't connect with the p/w given
Location: UVA,
Stayed 2 nights here and the next 2 nights at The Colonade. I slept equally well at both places and this hotel was half the price. Of course Thomas Jefferson did not design and build this hotel, and it did not have the beauty and ambience of a colonial residence. The quality Inn provided what we needed for a reasonable price the nights we stayed there.

Great for the price.

Our water heater needed replaced and the repairman couldn't come till next day, so we just needed a hot shower. I was very pleased with the quality of the room for the very reasonable price.

One night stay.

Posted 30-Jun-2014
Pros: Good shower head. Beds comfortable. Room clean.
Cons: New key locks needed. Beds made better.
Location: University of Virginia and all things Charlottesville has to offer nearby. Not too far from Montecello and Ash Lawn, Jefferson's and Monroe's homes.
1. Couldn't get either of the electronic room keys issued to open our door. A maid who was close by opened the door for us. Tried our keys again and still couldn't use them Desk clerk issued new keys and we were able to use one after trying the other many times, but even the one that worked took many tries. 2. Room had two beds and the one nearest the door and window was roughly made - looked rumpled, the second bed looked much better. Mostly empty bag of Chex Mix on desk. 3. Fluorescent light for sink area worked that night, but wouldn't light the next morning - had to shave in dim light from the separate toilet/bathroom.
