many small problems and a poor thermostat

Posted 27-Apr-2015
Pros: location and condition.
Cons: see comments above.
Location: near the university and penty of services nearby.
The room was in good shape, recently renovated and clean, but the door latch and lock were hard to use (mechanically deficient). There were several minor problems, such as no sink stopper and a non-working tub stopper. The thermostat was the most counter-intuitive I have seen, unresponsive and hard to comprehend. I had hold the control button for several seconds before it responded, and then it changed more rapidly than I could follow. This may be the worst control programming I have seen after a career in that field. The night clerk was friendly and helpful, and the day staff were very concerned about our complaints.

Good Hotel

Cons: More facilities.
I was staying there for a conference that was being held at the University of Virginia. I really enjoyed my stay and the bed was comfortable. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to visit UV.

OK für einen Zwischenstop (eine Nacht) und zur Erkundung von Charlottesville und Umgebung (Monticello); Sauberkeit lässt zu Wünschen übrig.

Convenient to UVA

Posted 25-Apr-2015
Pros: Great location. Seemed safe and clean. Free parking. Nice beds and pillows. Mini-fridge with small freezer shelf. Microwave.
Cons: Toilet not firmly attached to floor and would rock on floor slightly making rather loud noise. AC thermostat was a little hard to operate but worked.
Location: Easy to find from Hwy 29. On the edge of UVA campus across from athletic field and within convenient walking distance to campus and restaurants.
We stayed here for prospective student college visit for our daughter. Convenient, comfortable, and clean. Great place for a good night's sleep. Good breakfast but somewhat limited if gluten is a problem. We were able to enjoy scrambled eggs and fruit cups and good coffee selection. Appreciated single serving coffee pot in room along with mini refrigerator and microwave. Nice family stay.

Convenient location but lacks in other areas

Posted 22-Apr-2015
The hotel is conveniently located for visiting UVA and other sites near Charlottesville, but the rooms were dark and the floors poorly vacuumed. (The rest of the room seemed clean enough.) Upon arriving, I was ordered not to pull my car into the check-in lane because it was being cleaned. I had no heat for the better part of one day in a four day stay. The heater was noisy. The bed was covered with some sort of plastic that made noise when I moved. On the other hand, most of the staff is accommodating, there is a good breakfast included in the stay, and there are business services. The equipment in the fitness room is adequate but old.

CLose to UVA Hospital

Cons: Need better heating/AC controls
Convenient to UVA Hospital. Good value. Ask for an indoor room...warmer. Rooms were remolded recently and were clean. Everything was nice, bed was comfortable. Nice friendly staff.

Close to UVA campus

Posted 15-Apr-2015
Cons: plastic under fitted bedsheets
Location: college campus
We had an overnight stay as we were college searching and the Cavalier Inn was just right. A little outdated rooms, and plastic under bed fitted sheets, but other than that, very enjoyable stay. Very nice workout room, super quick walk to campus, parking good. I would reccomend due to those amenities.

Dirty and in need of repair

Posted 15-Apr-2015
Pros: There is only one reason, close to the University
Cons: No comment, see above
The room was not clean and many of the fixtures; door handles, bathroom fixtures and lamps were either broken or malfunctioning.
