Convenient location, but not much else

Great location to get to main grounds and north grounds; walkable from hotel. However, the heating, ventilation and cooling didn't work, and the main desk could not provide blankets. Some staff smoked and smoke drifted into nonsmoking rooms. For the price, I expected a nicer experience. But what a good location!

Pros: Location, Breakfast. Staff all good. Close to the school if that is your reason for being in Charlottesville. Cleanliness was very good.
Spent Thursday through Sunday here. Easy check in and check out. Room was spotless everyday. Breakfast decent for the price of stay. Internet spotty in room but generally OK. Was a quiet weekend with spring break for the college kids not sure during the time when school is in session. Great location IMHO

Too hot

Pros: The location
Cons: To be able to have a cooler room for sleep.
Location: Perfect for UVA
The room is fine, up to a point. The main problem was the room was too warm to sleep in and it was impossible to turn the heat down. Reception staff said there was no heat on. We moved for the second night and it was better, although cooler still would have been preferable. The breakfast was pretty basic. Perhaps less choices but better quality would have been an idea. The location is good, very central.

Not worth the money

We had to go outside from the lobby to get to our room on a cold winter day. The room was small and the counter by the sink was falling apart. The heat didn't work and we were told there was only a "hot" or "cold" setting. Even when staff came to look at it, they couldn't get it to work and the best they could do was bring us more blankets. We left and went to another hotel in town that was only 10-20$ more per night but SO much nicer and well worth it.

we arrived late, the front desk was very helpful with getting us checked in and up to our room. Room was clean and well stocked, beds were clean and comfortable. Wifi worked great. Close to several convenience stores since I had forgotten to pack a few things for my granddaughter. Since we had to leave early didn't use the pool or other services that they offered. I will stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others that are looking for a room in this area. Great stay

First, be prepared to have to go outside for your room. Only some of the rooms are actually indoors, and since it was 15 degrees, it was an unexpected inconvenience. Second, the heating system is 'temperamental', according to the front desk when I called because the temperature in the room was 80 degrees, and wouldn't function at a lower temperature. I switched to another room where you could feel the coils of the flimsy mattress, the blanket consisted of (literally) a fleece throw between 2 worn sheets, the ceiling was peeling above my head from water damage, and there was a college party going on in a nearby room til all hours. I was so tired I didn't want to move again. I have never written a bad review, but the impression I got online was not at all like the hotel. If you want comfort and sleep, you don't want this hotel.

Can't beat the convenience of location

Pros: Location, free parking, clean and comfortable
Cons: Breakfast
Location: JPJ arena is a short walk as is the Corner and Grounds
Basic hotel...more of a motel...room was comfortable...free parking is a nice perk..if you're in town for a basketball or football game great place to stay...

OK hotel. Close to university.

I didn't see any pride of ownership. The door hinges could use some grease! My heater wasn't working and hallways could use better organization.
