“Not the best during the holidays”

I stayed there with my family on Thanksgiving day and there was a sign posted on each entrace asking the guests to excuse the hotel because they weren't fully staffed due to the holiday. The menu was limited to pizza and the front desk clerk explained that he couldn't make any other food items, drinks, etc. because he was the only on staff for the entire hotel. My mother has arthritis and needed an extra blanket (there was only one in the room and three guests?). The clerk only gave me two more blankets when I asked for three. He claimed that there were only two left in the entire hotel, but I find that hard to believe. It seems like a nice hotel, but it lacks some of the advertised amenities during the holidays. Just a "heads up".

“Beautiful hotel; lovely stay”

The room was unique in that it had a nice small partition dividing the sleep area from the living area. It had a beautiful large flat-screen TV, a very comfortable bed and was modern and very clean. The staff was very friendly as well. The wi-fi was a bit slow, but overall I'd rate the hotel as excellent. The hotel has a beautiful lobby and kitchen area and a nice continental-type breakfast.

“Best stay for your buck!”

The staff was very nice and helpful, clean room, and nice location. It was well worth the couple extra dollars.

Area recommendations

I would go see the Nascar Hall of Fame it was awesome, and downtown Charlotte is very nice, with great night life.

“not impressed”

bed location is weird, right next to the air condition which is very noisy. Also the mirror of the restroom is facing the bed which is awkward. others are OK.

“Good Value”

Nice updates except for the bath tub area, water pressure was a little strong for my taste. Staff was very friendly, room nicely appointed. Had stayed at a different hotel the previous night for business and this hotel had a much more relaxing feel. The seating area separate from the bed made it nice to relax before dinner without having to lay in the bed.

“Will probably book again”

The staff was super nice, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice and the beds were super comfy! The bathtub definetly lacked some attention from the housekeeping but the rest of the room was clean. The hotel staff was quick to send someone to scrub the tub so it was clean when we came back from dinner. Very close to Carowinds, which was a reason for booking. We will probably book this hotel again next summer when we return to Carowinds!

Area recommendations

Carowinds during the week (non holiday) was dead. We walked onto many rides such as Intimidator and Afterburn. Living in Orlando, we do visit the local theme parks so we were expecting high prices for food, drinks and souveniers. The food and drinks were a little lower than Orlando theme parks, but the souveniers seem to be about the same. The kid area (Snoopy) was great for my 5 year old and again we had little to no wait. The water park was packed! But for the price of admission you get the water park and the theme park...unheard of here in Orlando! Great deal, great time!
