“Look elsewhere”

We stayed at this hotel for the ACC football game. When we arrived at 4pm, the room wasn't ready - despite a 3pm check in time. 45 minutes later, a different desk clerk saw we were still waiting and promptly gave us another room (wish it had been offered to begin with). When we got to the room, the toilet was filled with dark brown water which looked like mud??? The bathroom was exceptionally small and the door barely cleared the toilet. The room was really noisy and we could hear everything inside the hotel and out. Another problem was that there were no curtains to darken the room from the bright street lights outside. While the bed was clean and comfortable, this room definitely wasn't worth the price. The doormen and the valets were very friendly and helpful, but the rest of the hotel staff weren't impressive. The best thing about this hotel is the location. We will not stay here again when returning to Charlotte.

“Good Location, not the greatest room”

We chose this hotel because it was close to the Time-Warner Center. Perfect location for attending an event there. Check-in was easy. The elevators were consistently on the slow side. As we entered our room, we noticed that the room next door was being worked on. All the furniture was in the hall and the carpet being replaced. It should have been a clue something was up. After we got back late in the evening, we noticed the whole carpet felt damp. As we tried to sleep, the 3 of us all experienced some allergy type symptoms. We think that maybe the room had some type of water damage--everything seemed damp. Even unpacking clothes at home, we noticed they seemed wet. The room was small, but okay for one night. We didn't like the way the sink is in the same room as the beds and visible--not around a corner/on the other side of the wall like most smaller hotel rooms we have been in. Makes it hard for one person to sleep while another uses the sink. ZERO counter space. No hook on the very hard to open and noisy bathroom door. The coffee provided in the room and the coffee downstairs was not good. Husband could drink it, but not the wife. On the plus side, the room was quiet and appeared clean (except for the mysterious dampness). The rooftop pool was lovely. Very friendly staff.

“Not Impressed”

We have stayed at hotels in uptown Charlotte that were half the price and twice as nice. Our room didn't even have a sink in the bathroom.
