“We love the Wentworth”

We stayed at the Wentworth Mansion for two nights and three days. We enjoyed a delicious gourmet snack in the evening with some nice wine compliments of the house. We loved the architecture and took pictures from the roof cupola. Our room in the East Wing was private and beautiful. We received lovely chocolates from maintenance, and the bellman Jared carried our bags in and out of the mansion with true Marine Semper Fi spirit. The concierge desk manned by Mark and later Christian was responsive and always very helpful and polite. Breakfast at Circa 1886 was brilliant. Don't miss the grits! Betty had us giggling in the morning with her perky delivery of sweet rolls. We felt like millionaires this week at the Wentworth. You will too. Live large and enjoy your stay!

“30th Anniversary”

The staff at the Wentworth made us feel right at home from the moment we pulled into the parking lot, until the moment we pulled out. Just an amazing atmosphere! We went there for our 30th wedding anniversary and the staff just did all the little things that made our time there a memory we will never forget. I would HIGHLY recommend the Wentworth for anyone going to Charleston for a special occasion or just for a get away! We will definitely be return guests next time we are in town!

“Wonderful stay!”

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Wentworth Mansion, the fireplaced bedroom, roof top cupola, afternoon wine and snacks, attentive staff, Miss Betty's smiling service at breakfast, and historic setting. Circa 1886 a wonderful place for dinner as well. We walked everywhere. It is located several blocks romt he main downtown area, but still very convenient. We will definitely return to this beautiful place.

“A Southern Gem!”

The rooms were amazing, the hospitality can't be beat- evening drinks on the porch, complimentary breakfast... you will feel like kings and queens. Make sure to visit the Spa and Circa 1886, during your stay! And Charleston is one of the best cities in the country.

“Wentworth - Worth the Money”

This place is absolutely gorgeous! Impeccable service. Great full breakfast AND hors d'ouvres and wine from 5-6! Included! What a great way to relax after a day of exploring. 20 foot ceilings....working marble gas(timed) fireplaces.....quiet neighborbood within easy walking distance of everything on penninsula. Oh, and the observatory on the roof has amazing 360 degree views of the city. Only down side - I don't recommend the restaurant. Food was OK but very bland and definitely not in the same class with similarly-priced places in town. But stay here if you can. You will love it too.

“going back in time”

outstanding place to actually experience the wentworth dynasty and way of living. hotel staff very gracious and courteous. i love these old towns and the history and elegance they provide. glad to have spent our time here, it was time and money well spent, went to visit the college of charleston and felt glad to leave the hustle and bustle of king street to head back to wentworth. hotel experience is everywhere when you go to these historic towns take advantage of the historic hotels you will be glad you did.

“we are coming back”

the hotel staff were polite and helpful. the shower in our room broke and they dealt with sitaution extremely well. They moved us into another room and made us feel very comfortable during out entire stay.

“well worth the expense”

Fabulous small hotel in a mansion. Expensive but well worth it. Room was pleasant and luxurious, with a large bath and a reading room/sun room. Service was great all around. Daily breakfast was excellent and plentiful, with fresh pastries, fresh juice and a choice of several well prepared breakfast plates. Would return without question. I can think of only two issues. Most important, the location is a few extra blocks away from the main commercial area. This is not necessarily bad, as it is still well within walking distance, but the sidewalks between the hotel and Meeting/Kings street are not well maintained, making walking in heels somewhat hazardous. Not the hotel fault but could be an issue for some. The other thing that could be improved is the hotel collection of DVDs. Most people will not care, but there's no reason that it should be so small.

“Excellent Hotel!”

This was one of the finest places I have ever stayed. The hotel, which is a restored historic property, was in excellent condition. The room we stayed in was large and very comfortable. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable concerning the history of the building. The restaurant (located in an adjacent building) served a great breakfast that was included with the rate. While not inexpensive, I felt the rate was appropriate for the level of quality. I would stay here again, and recommend it to anyone interested in a memorable experience.

“Unbelievable”

This was an outstanding Hotel, amazing architecture, service, restaurant. LOVED! We would go back in a heartbeat! The only thing I wished they had was down pillows, but that is a small thing and a personal preference. Truly a great vacation spot.
