“Great time at TheTides”

The Tides was a perfect location to spend a few days before going downtown to Charleston Place to finish out the week. I believe it's an old Holiday Inn that's been nicely renovated. Right on the beach, close to everything in downtown Folly, and it has a great restaurant & beach-side bar on site. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, especially Jay who we met in the parking lot as we arrived and Morgan, the bar tender who gave us all kinds of insights on what to do. Folly was a fun little town with a relaxing atmosphere, fun restaurants & bars and a cool vibe. Definitely would go back!

Tides is a very nice location right on the beach... dinning is within walking distanace if your not interested in dinning at the hotel. a bar at the back of the hotel and at the beach is nice. and the rooms are very nice as well.

“Lovely stay at the Tides Folly Beach”

For our 3-night stay in Charleston, we decided to stay at Folly Beach instead of in Charleston proper. We selected the Tides Folly Beach Hotel: it was a great decision! Not only were we just minutes by car from historic Charleston, we had the added benefit of viewing the beach each morning and evening from our room. The staff were helpful and the hotel was clean and lovely; the beds were the most comfortable hotel beds we'd ever slept in. The onlt downside was no coffeeshop onsite, but there were places just a short walk away to get coffee and breakfast. Make sure to check out Bowens island Restaurant, just a short drive away.

“Ideal beach vacation”

With the single exception of slow, noisy elevators the Tides proved to be everything I could want in a beach resort. The service was great, the location excellent, the cleanliness and room were wonderful. We hated to leave. They made us feel very welcome.

“Great place for a family to stay!”

This hotel has a great beach and pier attached. The views are amazing! The kids, and adults, loved the candy store in the lobby. The pool was also nice - heated, so when it got cool by the ocean, you could stay warm swimming there. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful in helping us with directions or ideas for where to visit. They were also helpful in getting our boogie boards shipped back. The rest of the staff throughout the facility were courteous and always friendly. The attached restaurant had an awesome kid's menu (mac and cheese - yum) but the regular menu was a little pricey. However, there were other casual dining, reasonably priced restaurants within 2 blocks. The hotel was within 30 minutes of any attraction we went to see in Charleston. It was great to see the sights during the day and come back and relax at the beach in the afternoon and evenings. The only semi-downer was we were on the ninth floor and the wi-fi didn't reach to our room. They said they have been working on it, though. However, being disconnected in a place like this was fine with me! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! Thanks, Tides Folly for making our first family trip to the ocean a great one!
