“good value, good location to activities”

The hotel was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The location was minutes from downtown Charleston but far enough from the crowds.

“"Shem Creek Inn Is Wonderful!!"”

My 3 day 2 night stay was wonderful .. everything was so convient around me. My boyfriend and i loved it .. was rather rustic and romantic too :D .. BED ARE FABULOUS!!!!!!!

Area recommendations
check out the waters edge while you stay at shem creek and the park beside it ... don't forget there are 3 other fabulous places to eat and drink around this inn.
Nightlife
The resturants and bars around shem creek in are fabulous you don't have to drive anywhere :D
Outdoors or beach
You right on a channel/marsh were you can see shirmp boats etc. and you can walk thru shem creek park .

“Not impressed”

The location is wonderful and close to plenty of restaurants and activities. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have an in room refridgerator and microwave. Large rooms as well. On the down side the rooms were outdated, and the entire hotel is in need of some updates. It was clean. The breakfast was nothing too impressive.

I thought this area was nice because it was close to alot and more affordable than downtown hotels.

“too much money”

We paid far too much money for this motel. It was pretty run down. Staff was not very friendly or helpful. This is a southern motel in Charleston SC where were the grits and gravy for breakfast????

“Loved it!”

We were very plesantly surprised with the cleaniness and comfort of the room but especially with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Area recommendations
Soloman's Island and Isle of Plams. Both are beautiful and so well kept. Seems to be a laid back atmosphere and the beaches are beautiful.

“Would go back again”

me and my husband went for Labor Day weekend and couldn't of been more pleased with location only about 10 minutes to downtown and 10 minutes to the beach. What I enjoyed the most was getting to watch the dolphins all day from our pool was to cool.

“A little upsetting”

Nice hotal; very relaxing to sit out on the patio and watch the boats go buy. Like the breakfast and the selection of restaurants near by

“Awesome location, ready to go back!”

This place is all about location & it has that. Pool is right on the water & hotel is surrounded by great bars & restaurants. Nice rooms & hotel had everything we needed.

Area recommendations
Mount Pleasant & Isle of Palms. Beaches & hot hang out spots.

“Mom's first vacation alone in 15 years!!!”

This hotel was exactly what I needed! There is great food with super atmosphere right next door! Starbucks & Wild Wing Cafe less than a mile down the street. All the amenities of a tourist spot without the feel. Cross the beautiful Cooper River bridge and find Charleston straight away. EVERYTHING was smooth and easy to find. Isle of Palms beach $5 parking with perfect beach and ice cream and tourist shops. Recommend: Vickerys- right next to hotel; Lanas- in Charleston; and Bocco 1/4 mile down from hotel. I will return later this year. They are finalizing the updates on the hallways and rooms! perfect :-)

Shem Creek in right between the city of Charleston and the beaches of Sullivan's Island/Isle of Palms. oh and the shopping is GREAT!
Events and shows
Try to be there for the Spoleto Fest. I've been a few years back and hope to go again!
