“Not what I expected”

“So-so”

This hotel is unexceptional, not good not bad. It is located in the boondocks with nothing within walking distance except undeveloped land. The drive in to Charleston is about 10 minutes, so not bad, but you are definitely not in a convenient locale. I was given a studio which was comfortable as a room, but had two major drawbacks when it was time to get some sleep. Because there was a refrigerator with an ice maker in the room, every hour the ice dropped into the bucket and made a big racket. Had I been able to sleep on the worn out mattress, the ice maker would have awakened me, but I as it was I was just given a good jolt every so often to remind me that I wasn't sleeping at all. The mattress was so worn out that you had to swing your legs up to get over the edge of it to get out of bed. Another room, another mattress, another time. Don't know if I would take the chance.

Area recommendations

We were taken to dinner in the downtown shopping mall, which was quite nice. There is an excellent seafood restaurant in the mall. Charleston really has figured out the way to keep the downtown alive day and night.

“BEST STAFF IN THE WORLD!”

This hotel was wonderful. It was a great famiy enviroment. The staff was wonderful every single person from the front desk to the maintenance men were amazing. It was clean and inviting with all the comforts of home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Charleston sunset view”

Arrived before sundown. Asked for a room with a view of the sunset, The gentleman was very interested in accommodating us. The sunset was beautiful with views of the Charleston city lights. Thank you. Breakfast was excellent. Pineapple, melon, raisins, oatmeal, eggs....all the things I eat. A variety of coffees. Stayed there 20 years ago and liked it so much I went back and I was not disappointed. Wheels on the baggage carts stink like most hotels. Why not just buy some good wheels for the customers. This location is on a hill in a business park away from everything.
