“Thanksgiving in Charleston”

We only stayed one night but the location was great for seeing the sights and shopping on King Street. Breakfast was not included.

“Great Downtown Charleston Hotel”

This is a great hotel right off of King Street that had good customer service. It was very clean and comfortable, had a pool, and a well equipped fitness center as well. Overall, a great pick!

“Amazing Experience!!!”

My fiance and I stayed at the Renaissance Hotel for Labor Day weekend. I love love love this hotel. Let me begin by saying that it is the best smelling hotel I've ever stayed at!!!! Not kidding... usually hotels (even the nicest ones) have a smell coming from the carpet, but the Renaissance keeps up with making it a pleasant olfactory experience. The room was extremely clean and cozy. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel's location is convenient to all the major shopping areas and you have a great selection of restaurants.

Area recommendations
The hotel is in the historical area, only a street over from King street (major shopping area), and at walking distance from Market Street, where you can find several restaurants and shopping at the market.
Getting around
Just park your car at the parking garage across the street, and walk everywhere. Everything (except the beach) is at walking distance.
What to pack
Walking Shoes
Shopping
King St. has a great selection of stores from local businesses to mainly popular chains. If you want to buy keepsakes, go to the market on Market St, which is only a few streets over from the hotel.
Dining
Muse (right across the street from the hotel) Poogan's Porch- Its on Queens St. TBonz on Market St.

“Elegance and Convenience”

This hotel was exactly what I envisioned for an upscale hotel in the historic district of Charleston. It was mere blocks from the market, beautifully appointed and the service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The concierge was spot on with every one of his suggestions. When we go back to Charleston, this is where we will stay!

Area recommendations
It is worth the extra money to be in the historic district - so much to see and do. We didn't need a car - took bike taxis every where we wanted to go.
Getting around
Bike taxis are the way to go...quick, friendly, convenient and very reasonable.

“Nice Hotel - Be Careful of Extra Charges”

Nice hotel and convenient to everything in downtown Charleston. Found it a little ridiculous that internet access was an extra charge when it's free at "lesser" hotels. Also, the advertised rate for the hotel did not include parking at the public garage across the street. (There is no where else to park.) The parking charges appeared on my bill on check out. All in all nice hotel but I could have stayed at nicer hotel considering the additional charges incurrred.

“Awesome”

Stayed in the hotel for a weekend get a way from the kids. Everything was as advertised on Expedia. No problems noted. Internet access was available in the room for a fee... there was also wireless available in the room. Wireless was free. :) Nice hotel. We would stay there again.

“Quiet, wonderful facility yet steps from everything”

A wonderful facility with all the charm of a charming city. Everything was perfect from the room and restuarant to the valet service and an outdoor pool heated enough to make swiming in 50 degree weather a pleasant experience. Absolutely in the center of a great vibrant restuarant, shopping and historical area yet seemingly "hidden" and restfully quiet. I'd go back in a minute

Dining
Had "write home about" meals at Fig, S.N.O.B. Anson's ,and a wonderful traditional lunch at Jestine's and we barely scratched the surface.
