“What I expected”

This hotel was not great, but it was definitely acceptable. The rooms seem a little dated and the hotel is doing some renovation. However, it was nice and quiet, a good breakfast, and I got a good nights sleep which was the most important thing to me.

“Steady Eddie”

We stay here once a month when we come to Charleston. You can't beat the rate and it is convenient to the Clay Center. The breakfast is what it is,nothing special, the standard HI fare, but you can find some healthy choices among the sausage and gravy. The place is clean, and the desk people are always friendly. Be warned, this place is almost always crowded because of its convenient location to the Civic Center, so don't expect a booking the same day as your stay.

“Proximate to the Airport”

The hotel was well maintained with a clean room. It was a short, 10-minute shuttle ride to the airport which was my main reason for staying there.

“Good for a one night stay.”

The hotel was clean but not maintained and updated. There was no microwave or refrigerator and the carpets were stained. The breakfast was excellent, wide variety of items. The surrounding looks like it was in an industrial town and the roads being one way seemed like a maze in the night. I wouldn't recommend it for more than a one nights stay.

Area recommendations

We live in Canada and are not familiar with the area around but would recommend a city that is not industrial.

“not worth the money”

Not worth the money with other nicer hotels around. Breakfest was packed in the morning, good luck getting a seat. A big event was in town so I understand the reason. Carpets are dirty so you would have grocery store feet! Older hotel trying to be new and modern.

“Centrally Located”

This Hotel was centrally located and was nice for the price. The Breakfast was GREAT, especially compared to other hotels that offer free breakfast. Actually had some protein, eggs, sausage, etc. instead of ALL CARBS like Comfort inn or MIcrotel. Rooms were clean, big and quite, with free internet. Overall, great stay!
