“Exceeded expectations”
We were very pleased with this hotel. It exceeded our expectations. The only downside was the extremely slow restaurant. The food was good, but took forever to get. There are other restaurants so close that we would never eat in hotel again. We wished we had come a day sooner to enjoy more of fantastic Charleston.
“Room noise”
There was a consistent noise that was heard most of the night when we stayed there. At first I thought it was music from the bar but later realized it sounded more like video games. Not sure what it was but it lead to one of the most sleepless nights I can remember. Also tough with a 4am wake up call.
“Not terribly impressed”
While this hotel was convenient for a stay near the airport, room service was extremely slow, and ground transportation took so long to appear on the day of my departure that I arrived late to my destination. I was not particularly pleased with me stay, and I would not stay at this location again.
“Needs serious attention..”
Staff is pleasant, but restaurant is inadequate. Bed was on a slant, lights were out, desk chair unstable. Tired. Tired. Tired. holiday Inn.
“Charleston's worst Hotel”
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Front desk employees were rude and not at all helpful. I needed a cab to Meeting Street. I inquired about rates. They informed me they only use one company. I trusted them! Big mistake!! Very expensive! Aproximately 5-7 miles cost $30.00. The return fare was $45.00. Again only 5-7 miles. After questioning the driver, I was informed the original cab company that dropped me off called on another company to pick me up and take me back. I was not given the opportunity to call another company to make that choice, as I was not informed it was a completely different company. When I returned and inquired about the fare I was told it was not their responsibility! Perhaps that may be accurate, however I trusted and believed their recommendation would be the safest choice. Anyone who travels knows this is the classic bait and switch. I am certain someone is making out on this deal. And it is not the vulnerable traveler. Oh... I was offered a small concession. I was told I could rent a "free" movie, or enjoy a "complimentary" continental breakfast the next morning. Even if I wanted to take them up on their insulting offer, my flight out the next morning was 6:00am. So to bed early (no movie) and up early to catch the flight (no breakfast) Both of which they were well aware of! So much for "Southern Hospitality"
