“My favourite hotel in America”
Our holiday took us from Nashville to Washington , during which time we stayed at numerous hotels, all 4/5 star. The French Qtr Inn was by far our favourite. Its charm lays in its customer service and gestures that make your stay just that bit more comfortable. It has the balance right between looking after both business and holiday clients. The ability to make your own coffee or tea irritated me the whole holiday with most hotels not offering drink making facilties at all, preferring to charge you room service. At the FQI drinks can be made throughout the day; champagne is available each afternoon as is cheese & wine late afternoon and milk & cookies late evening if you want it. Additionally there is complimentary continental breakfast which was very good. Our room was a good size and you just step outside of the hotel and you`re in the heart of Charleston. If you have a car, visit the Magnolia plantation, its about 30 min drive from Charleston and although we were suprised at the entry price of $47 each there is enough to do there to keep you occupied and interested all day. Fort Sumpter was interesting and we also visited the Calhoun house which I found a little dissappointing. Blossoms is an excellent restaurant and recommended to us by the receptionist at the hotel because we wanted somewhere with a strong fish and meat menu. I`d love to stay here again and hopefully will get the chance to.
“Brilliant hotel”
Extremely pleasant and relaxing hotel. All the staff were very attentive and polite. The ambiance of this hotel was fabulous. Will recommend this hotel to everyone we know. Ideal location for visiting plantations, Patriots Point,Fort Sumter and The Yorktown.
