“Convenient and Comfy”

"Downtown" does not always mean classy. But this hotel has everything for work-weary travelers. Great breakfast, nice workout facilities, yummy warm cookies in the afternoon. The rooms are clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. Within a short drive of shopping and restaurants and churches I had no problem getting in room delivery of pizza and Chinese meals. Historic Charleston WV is at your fingertips from this location. I will stay here again!

“Friendly and helpful”

Front desk was very helpful and friendly. I traveled with small children and they made the stay great. Offered assistance and provided exceptional service after a stressful day on the road. They were great!

“Quiet and clean”

I have stayed at several hotels in Charleston. This has been the best of the hotels I have been to. The hotel was quiet, clean, great breakfast and best of all, very helpful, friendly staff.

The Soho Restaurant was very nice. The "two blocks" was quite a walk. The locals at the Shelter were very friendly.

“Fine & Dandy in the South”

The room was verrry comfortable... nice to come "home" to after a 12 hour work day. Continental Breakfast my eye.. IT WAS A FULL BREAKFAST!!! Terrific!! Not much in the way of restaurants in the area but the spots that delivered were fine. Overall it was a great stay.. friendly, convenient, restful.

“Nice hotel in a good location”

within a few minutes walk to several nice restaurants and shops, and very convenient to/from the interstate; complimentary breakfast was good; staff was friendly and helpful; room and other areas were very clean; overall good value

area near the hotel had some nice restaurants; a mall and boutique market were also close; Pies & Pints has delicious gormet pizza and excellent beer selection (short list but very interesting brews) Breakfast at First Watch was great; also a good ice cream shop just a few blocks away; small bakery nearby too!

“Not impressed”

This hotel is suffering from old age/lack of renovation. Took 3 trips to the front desk to get the key card to work after check-in. Noisy, terrible heater in room. Breakfast was below par compared to what others serve at this type location. This hotel doesn't seem up to Fairfield's standards.
