“Not impressed”

My son and I will not go back to this location again. Too far away from the main part of Charleston, too old and dirty. Smelled of 10 day old cigarettes when we arrived. We had a car dealership in front of us, Antique store beside and a Waffle House to the right of us. We did not feel very safe even though we were on the second floor. The bathroom sink still had toothpaste spattered on it from the previous guest. Not impressed at all.

Area recommendations
Patriots Point which is right at Charleston. The area takes pride in their part of the city. My 11 yr old son and I travel to that area and enjoy the stay. We go into Historic Charleston from there.
Must see
My son and I really enjoyed the State site of Charles Towne Landing. It is easy to find from North Charleston or really any portion of Charleston. The grounds are well maintained, the hospitality was impeccable. You can take a map and walk around guiding yourself, or walk up to speaker boxes along the way that tell you about the area. If you're in to history, you'll love this place! There is a Native American Ceremonial Site, Palisade Wall, Fort area, Stocks and Pillory, Cannon Platforms, even a 700 yr old live oak! to name just a few. Very worthwhile side trip off of 171/Old Towne Road
