Hotel review.
Everything was great apart from the safe in my room which had to be fixed before it would work and there was no coffee machine in the room which I asked for and it was provided. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The shower was great as was the breakfast. All the staff were very helpful and kind.

We stayed here two nights, the hotel is centrally located to many restaurants and close to the Chania harbor. Loved it! The only complaint I have, is that the free bottle of wine had a terrible taste.

Lovely Hotel, horrible front desk services!
We arrived on a short trip to beautiful Chania. As we came in late at night, we were informed that the front desk is located nearby at Elia Zampeliou Hotel and it is open 24 hours daily. The hotel has a front desk as you could see in the picture but it is just for decoration. This firm has various hotels in the Old City nearby so I guess it is more economical to them having one reception desk. The hotel and the rooms are excellent in a great location, with 2 friendly ladies in charge of cleaning, and preparing great breakfast. On our last day, we approached the front desk to book a Taxi to the airport and keep our language while still touring the town, and when we got back to the reception to pick up the gear and get instructions on how to reach the driver (no cars can enter this part of the city so we need instruction how to reach the meeting point), to our great disappointment, the font desk was closed! we waited half an hour trying to call the numbers we had with no success. Eventually, we communicated with Wattsapp but didn't like the excesses of No Front Desk services, and as they gave us the entry code we took off our gear and went to find our way to the airport not to miss our flight. We will surely arrive again in Chania for a longer stay but never use this firm again! Only a hotel with Front Desk services not just collects the payment upon arrival but gives services when the customers are leaving.

On the other hand, we would certainly like to apologise for the inconvenience and frustration, for not being there at the time you came to collect your suitcases and get instructions for the driver. We accept all the criticism and we should definitely have organised it better.At this point, please allow us to add a few comments: For all our reservations, we fully inform our guests, before their arrival, of everything regarding the properties, reception location, check-in\check-out procedures etc.It is true that we had to complete an arrival and check-in in another property of ours, approximately at 17.15 pm on the day of your departure, thus we had to be out of the Reception desk. Our Reception is never closed and, in case we have to be out for a few minutes, our guests can always contact us via telephone or online applications. Our conversation on Whatsapp, was between 17.19-17.33 pm and we were back at the Reception a few minutes before 17.50 pm, when your transfer was scheduled. We would like to clarify that we are referring to the facts, surely not to excuse ourselves, but because we feel it would be fair to do that. Even more fair would be, if we added that, despite the fact that our Reception desk manages various properties in the old town area, we indeed offer full 24-hour services in both our Reception desks and we are always willing to make our guests' stay as best as possible (i.e. late check-out, when available and possible, as we did with you, as well).We would be really glad, if you could accept our apologies and we will be honestly happy to see you again in the future, even if that means that you will be just passing by in the neighbourhood.Kind Regards,Antonis YiakoumakisFront Office, Elia Hotels Group

The staff were fantastic. Antoni and Despina were extremely helpful. We changed hotels after the first night because our A/C wasn’t working. The breakfast is top notch! Location was central to everything.

Room internal design was weird. Bathroom and bed too close and separated by thin glass wall. Lobi was in different building than the room. Stuff was friendly but too busy.

Well located property good convenience to surrounding areas only downside they manage 7 properties from one office which is badly signed and cannot find so when we got to hotel doors locked to call a phone number took us an hour to locate before booking in

Great location! It’s definitely worth it to stay in the old town. There are great restaurants and the hotel staff gave amazing recommendations. Staff were very friendly and helpful! They helped us arrange for a taxi from the airport and then Elena met us where the taxi dropped us off and walked us to our hotel (cars are not allowed in old town). This boutique hotel has great attention to detail. You won’t regret staying here!

The check-in hours that are listed are not correct on this site. The day before check-in we were sent an email while traveling to tell us that check-in is as follows: "Please bear in mind that the reception is not open all day. The reception opening hours are from 08.00-15.00pm & from 18.00-22.00pm" So, of course, we arrived during the period during the mid-day that it was closed and had to wait on the street with our bags because we didn't have a chance to check email until we actually arrived on site. Once we were able to speak to an attended she was rude to my wife as she explained that the credit card charge didn't go through over two months prior to check in date and she was just now letting us know. She said that we need to pay her in cash. When we called the credit card company they told us that the charge did go through and that it was colllected by the hotel. We provided this information to the hotel attended and yet she wanted us to pay her in cash for the stay. So we decided to tell the credit card company that we wanted to dispute the charge since the hotel was telling that it wasn't paid and stayed in another hotel down the street. Several red flags about this hotel so be careful. WARNING

An extremely charming hotel in the old town in an amazing location by the port. The rooms have every amenity imaginable and extremely clean. The breakfast is incredible and the staff are extremely professional, pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

Great base to explore old town
Nice small hotel in great location near harbour. Good base for short stay in old town. Helpful staff. Superior room was nicely furnished with internal balcony. However lighting in room is dim and there is very little natural light. Bathroom tiles are lovely but bathroom is dimly lit and cleanliness of mastic and grouting around tiles could be improved. Breakfast could also be improved. Fresh orange juice was nice but otherwise breakfast was basic and food was cold. There are some lovely restaurants in the old town and in main town outside. Nice shops outside old town with interesting textiles and furnishings. Snow capped mountains very pretty.

This is a wonderful hotel with amazing staff at the center of the Old City in Chania. Let's start with the negative though (that have nothing to do with the hotel): Google maps doesn't work well in the Old City, since for the better part of the day access to vehicles is restricted and Google does not account for these restrictions. Also, you will have to park outside the Old City so there will be some walking involved, typically under 5-7 mins; however Ontas staff is willing to help with luggage so give them a call before you get there. The room was clean, with beautiful design, and full amenities. There was a relatively small selection, compared to big hotels, of extremely high quality items for breakfast, including traditional Cretan food. Grade A for the breakfast. You walk out of the hotel entrance and you are in the heart of the Old City with a great selection of restaurants and other stores only a few steps away. Grade A+ for location. The staff was amazing, especially Mr Iordanis (Jordan). They answered all our questions, they provided solid recommendations for places to visit and eat, and they accommodated all our requests. Grade A++ for the staff. We will stay there again next time we visit Chania!!!

Amazing (AMAZING) Hotel!
We stayed at this hotel recently and were very pleased with the location and the overall quality of the building. It’s a very charming old building that has been restored into an incredible hotel with some very modern and spectacular features. The bed was very comfy; the shower was amazing; the colors and lighting were very interesting and the room was spacious with high ceilings. Checkin was very personal and the staff took the time to show us everything right down to how to turn the shower on and lock the safe. Despite our room being interior facing (no view) I was happy The with stay and would recommend. Also, the included breakfast was an excellent start to the day. Five stars.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights here during part of our honeymoon and it was by far our favorite hotel out of the 7 cities we visited. The service is excellent, Mrs. Mariana is very professional and kind. The room itself was very high tech and CLEAN! The bed was a nice firm mattress with fluffy/firm pillows. The bathroom was spacious and again CLEAN! The laundry service is very expensive, but other than that our stay was perfect. Yummy breakfast buffet with fresh cappuccinos on request, steps from all the restaurants. If you have high expectations for the money you spend at hotels, then I definitely recommend this place!

Hotel was beautiful. Pristine. Location was fantastic. My only issue was communication with the woman in charge after I booked a room on this site that wasn't actually available. I was traveling by horseback the week before, so I had very limited internet access. When I asked about adding a day to the reservation, she replied the hotel was booked and to look elsewhere online. So I did. A day later, when I was searching hotels.com, Fatma showed up. I thought maybe they'd had a last minute cancellation so I booked it. (What weary traveler wouldn't hope the skies had cleared and she'd only have to unpack once?) The next day, I got a reply that was less than friendly asking me why I would book it online when I knew it wasn't available (CAPS letters included in email). She said for my convenience they wouldn't charge the nonrefundable fee. There was no reason for an email like that. All she had to say was there was a mistake on hotels.com. Period. I would have been happy to figure out another place, which was my intention in the first place. Instead it was awkward the moment I stepped in the door, and I was relieved to see when the night person was at the front desk. Had I had the option, I would have canceled my reservation completely, even if it meant missing out on what could be the best hotel room in Chania.

Don't miss staying in this hotel!
Excellent stay! If we come back to Chania, we definitely stay there again. the room was excellent with a private balcony, all very modern and new. Staff is very kind and friendly. The hotel is right in the old city and the building is authentic! We definitely recommend it.

No complaints - good location good hotel
If I came back to Chania, I'd probably choose to stay here again. The hotel has very nice decor, the room was very nice and we had a lovely private terrace. The breakfast was good! I liked the staff members, they were very helpful and kind. I can't really think of any complaints about this place - even the location was perfect. Some would say it might be a little pricey for the area but I felt like it was a good deal.

Beyond fantastic!
We had high expectations for our stay at this unique boutique hotel and they still managed to top them,! From the moment we arrived down to every detail the highly attentive staff treated us like royalty. The rooms were beautifully decorated , beds were the most comfortable of all the places we stayed iin Greece & Italy complete with very soft high thread count linens. The breakfast was very enjoyable and freshly prepared. We especially liked the fresh squeezed juices they made. We found the location to be perfect in the old town but not too near the noisy harbor area. Would highly recommend this & plan to return.

Marianna has simply outdone herself with this hotel. It's literally perfect. The room is well-decorated and quaint with a balcony. Her breakfast is great and all of her recommendations for restaurants and things to do were even better. I would stay here every time...and i am going to be recommending it to all of my friends.

Fantastic
If you are looking for something different, go for Fatma. All rooms have their own twist, no room numbers, all named with Turkish girl names. Great condition of the hotel, safety measures with front door, great location bang in the centre of old town (a short walk from the road) and 1 minute walk to the harbour.

Great service, clean rooms with charm, ottoman decor & character. The courtyard on top level was spacious and ideal for late afternoon lounging after a day at the beach and before heading out for the evening. Bathroom facilities very good. Breakfast excellent. True Jewel of Chania!
My friends and I had the pleasure of staying here recently. Our stunning hostess Marianna showed us the hotel and all it's amenities. It was a very refreshing change from other places I have stayed in Crete. Breakfast the following morning was fresh and tasty. Fresh squeezed OJ topped it off. I highly recommend staying here, and I look forward to again on my next visit to Chania.
