Upon checking in I was asked whether I would like to upgrade to a Club room which will provide me breakfast for all 3 of us as I was travelling with my wife and son aged 10. It would also entitle us to the club facilities where they served cocktails and food every evening which was as good as a light early dinner. The price charged was also very reasonable.
The service was very good at the cafe for breakfast and also at the Horizon Club especially George who took good care of us there.
The concierge office were also very helpful in arranging the daily tours as we were only there for 4 days 3 nights and I did not arrange any earlier before the trip.
All in all the staff at Shangri La Chiang Mai made made it an unforgettable holiday trip to Chiang Mai

Arrived in the afternoon and check in was easy, nice to be greeted with drinks and cool towels. The room was lovely, spacious with a great balcony and day bed, great to lie and laze the day away with a nice view over the pool. Breakfast was small but nice and the onsite restaurant was great with it's never ending Brazilian BBQ. Only stayed for two nights, wish it could have been more.
Everything about the Anantara, Chiang Mai, is wonderful. The room was large and comfortable; I loved the balcony, where I spent the afternoon reading and relaxing. The hotel itself is a work of art, and it was fun just to walk around and explore.
I had dinner outdoors, right next to the river -- excellent meal, nice glass of wine, good service.
Not inexpensive, certainly, but definitely worth the splurge.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in April 2014.
Amenities: I was staying in Building B. I have not been into the rooms of other wings but I can see that the doors of guest rooms at the main building looked older. In building B where I was staying, the room does not look dated, is large, clean and well maintained by the housekeeping staff. There is a safe deposit box, 2 free bottles of drinking water per day (not sure if we can ask for more), a kettle and free tea, coffee and sugar. The bathroom and toilet is a little small but adequate. One annoyance is the presence of mosquitoes but this is a Chiang Mai annoyance as I can find mosquitoes elsewhere during the hot month of April, even at international F&B outlets like Starbucks, the airport and also inside a Thai Airways plane when it landed at Bangkok from Chiang Mai. The housekeeping staff provided an electric mosquito repellent. The breakfast is very good. There is a travel service desk inside the hotel.
A suggestion would be to make the exterior of the entrance to hotel (where the tour desk is) more prominent to tourists looking for it for the first time.

We stayed at Centara in 2 joint room, 6 people, very good service, comfortable and clean rooms, great breakfast, excellent location, very closed to the night market and not far from the Sunday Market. Only 150 Bhat to/from the airport. We definitely will stay again next time we are in Chiang Mai.

This place is relatively not expensive and provides a lot.
The staff was very nice and kind – We asked about late checkout and they offered it for free even though I was willing to pay.
We also booked all of our daily trips with the hotel staff, and it was very efficient, easy and the prices were good.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, the hotel is quite well maintained and the pool & gym are nice.
Breakfast was good with nice variety of food.
The hotel is located very close to the night market but isolated enough to be quiet.
This really is a brilliant hotel. Great location in Chiang Mai only a 5 minute walk from the night Bazaar. There's nothing I could fault about it. Breakfast is great, tranquil pool setting tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai, room was fantastic with complimentary minibar, selection of movies to watch on in room DVD player. Staff were excellent throughout. Highly recommend this hotel.
