Any guests found to be violating this policy are asked to leave, lose their deposit and are banned from staying with us in the future. All carpeting in the hotel was just replaced this last year, however we will look for any areas that need addressed. We have been working diligently to rid the hotel of these odors, as before we purchased the hotel - it did allow smoking. We have also been trying to stop guests from violating our non-smoking policies by instituting high fees/deposits, and having a zero tolerance when found, the police are called as it is against Illinois Law to smoke in buildings deemed as non-smoking, and also banning these guests from coming back.
