• There is nothing like adventure sports to let off steam. Only about ten kilometres from the hotel you can play paintball, go white-water rafting, mountain biking, four-wheeling and climbing. Of course, you can also indulge in more quiet pleasures like rambling along one of the hiking trails. Culture also takes pride of place notably due to the Roman ruins close to Cerva, in a village that is part of the national archaeological heritage. Alvão Nature Reserve was created in 1983. Although small in size, you might get as lucky as to watch the flight of the golden eagle, an endangered species. The park is home to many other species that are representative of Portuguese mountain areas.
