“found this hotel to be satisfactory and I am quite a "germ-o-phobic!"”
This hotel is layed out oddly since you can either find your way via hallways or go outside then inside again to find your room....we ended up doing both! The breakfast which was lame was on the third floor, which was different. The lobby is very, very small so I guess this must have been an after thought. Overall, it wasn;t bad...I would stay there again since now I know my way around!!
“It's fine”
This was my first trip with a dog and I have learned that this does pose an extra problem or two when you are traveling but cannot figure out how the pet friendly hotels seem to always put me on an upper level floor as far from the elevator as possible and this one even had me tromping through breakfast as I was packing up the car to leave. The continental breakfast was set up on the third floor with tables set up around the elevators which was weird and inconvenient and, well, weird. The room was clean, neighborhood seemed fine, and for one night, it was fine.
“Average”
Hotel is well situated as a base for sight-seeing etc but is older hotel and some what ackwardly laid out. All the hotels in Rutland are overpriced at any time of year and this in comparison may then offer some value. Bath room is very tight and bed not the greatest but housekeeping does a good job at keeping clean . The breakast was good with staff on hand to help out.
“Not Impressed”
The hotel was not impressive. The air conditioner in the room was very noisy and we had trouble sleeping. We tried to sleep with the A/C off but kept getting warm so my husband had to keep getting up every few hours to turn it back on--noise and all! Lots of motorcyclists stay here because the hotel offers them a discount. The hotel did give a very minimal discount because of the A/C. Would not stay here again.
“Great place”
This place was perfectly fine, I'd stay again.
“good choice in rutland”
basic hotel. needs refreshing.
“Not the best area”
This is actually a decent hotel but Rutland is not the place to stay unless you have a specific reason for being there. It seems to cater to bikers so you get a lot of engine noise from the parking lot. The staff was fairly nice and attentive. Also the continental breakfast buffet was a lot better than what some other hotels offer. There's just no reason to stay in Rutland unless you want a good value. Killington is a better location or Woodstock if you can spend more.
“Decent place to stay”
Nothing special about this hotel, but it was clean and comfortable. There was no refrigerator in the room, and the bathroom was rather small. The view from our window was the concrete wall of the building next door. The complimentary continental breakfast was OK. The location wasn't too convenient for us. We were going to a college about 12 miles away, but if you're going to the Vt state fair, it's right accross the street, and the hotel is close to several good restaurants. The hotel gives you a discount coupon for the restaurant next door. This is certainly no resort, but if you want a clean, comfortable place to stay at a reasonable price, this should fit the bill.
“very nice hotel”
very nice hotel, nice pool, good overall breakfast, great experience will come back for sure, very close to killington ski resort.
“Book something else if you can”
This Comfort Inn was the only place we could book for that holiday weekend. It is located in about 12 miles from Killington, which is not bad. Easy to find. Outside there's nothing, really, a busy intersection, a railroad (not very active), KFC, a gas station and McDonalds. There were no rooms with double beds, so my 16 yr old son and I had to share a kig. I asked for a rollaway in advance but they seemed to have no record of that and had no rollaways available anyway. They promised to get back to us and also offered blankets, but nobody called. I got the blankets myself next day. There is a pool, but there were maybe 50 teen school kids staying same weekend, it was impossible to use There was a free breakfast with a simple menu. The breakfast area is also an elevator lobby, very inconvenient. We never figured out how to make our old heater to work right, it kept blowing cold air. The room was ok, though, it was clean and updated. They had a free wifi and a refrigerator. To summarize, try to stay somewhere else, if you can. If nothing is available, this place is ok for a day or two
