Let's start with the hotel staff, very polite, professional and friendly. The hotel was clean, up to date with today's standards and very welcoming. The room was great, layout, facilities, comfort it was all you needed and more!
We recently stayed at Biz Apartment Gardet on a working grandparent vacation. Other family members were booked for this location so that dictated our choice. It was an excellent one for us, conveniently located for job and touring. The hotel is comprised of apartments varying from studios (ours consisting of large bathroom with walk in shower, queen size bed, reading chair, dining table for two with chairs and a kitchen area with dorm size fridge, two burner solid surface stove top, ss sink and plenty of cabinet storage) to two bedroom apartments with queen beds, full kitchens (oven, dishwasher, full fridge, etc.), dining table for four, and living room area with sleep sofa and reading chair. All furniture and décor was impeccable Swedish design. Located near two major easy to use bus lines and opposite a large recreation area this largely residential area only needed more restaurants to make it perfect though grocery store was only a short walk away.
We have just returned from a long weekend at Royal Viking. I can say after a mixed bag of reviews we were not expecting too much! However, our business class room was fantastic, the pillows and bed were so comfy and you just sank into them!! So comfy.. The bathroom was stunning and spotless, loved the quartz stone and chrome! The breakfast had everything you would normally expect from a 4 star, great variety, fresh fruit was amazing! The only criticism would be should have plates at each section as if you were at the toaster area, you had to find a side plate at another section, hence think more people wandering around a bit when at busy times could be avoided. We used the fisk bar each evening for drinks and was always busy with a good atmosphere or in the day to sit and have coffee. Lastly the location of this hotel you cannot beat, the station is right outside the door and perfect for catching the train or subway. Although this is quite a large hotel, it still had a great vibe and was not impersonal, all the staff were friendly and very efficient. Had a look at pool and spa area, looked ok and cosy, very big gym area did not get chance to use, but will use if we ever get to come back to Sweden again as this will definately be the hotel to stay!!
Villa Kallhagen is the perfect option if visiting the city of Stockholm. The hotel is positioned by the Djugardsbrunnsviken canal (running between Djurgarden and Ostermalm), with views of Ladugardsgardet park on one side and Djurgarden (a national park) on the other. You feel as though you are staying in the middle of the countryside, yet the centre of the city is minutes away by bus (the number 69 stops right outside the hotel) or a very pleasant 25 minute waterside stroll.
The rooms are comfortable and quiet; we slept very well every night! The hotel breakfast offers a wide selection and is an ideal way to start the day. The staff were all happy to speak English, which was much appreciated! The Wi-Fi was reliable and easy to access and the drinks in the mini-bar were complimentary (a nice extra touch). Villa Kallhagen probably wouldn't be the ideal choice if you wanted to be out in the city late at night (due to the positioning), but is an ideal choice for families and couples wanting a peaceful and relaxing place to return after a day's sightseeing. We would certainly stay at the hotel again.
This was our second visit to Clarion Södermalm. We returned because the first time we stayed we were impressed with the comfortable, modern rooms, the quietness in the room, the spacious and artistic hotel, the location and most of all The Breakfast! Everything you could possibly want for a delicious Swedish start to the day - it's a holiday in itself! Brilliant hotel....I'm sure we will be back for a third time

Though not the cheapest hotel on offer, this hotel has a number of advantages. It is very convenient for the bus station, central station, and airport express train. The buffet breakfast is excellent, though I advise getting there early to avoid the crowds that descend later on - this is a big well-occupied hotel. The four elevators each offering a different kind of music ("Rock", "Pop", "Jazz" and "Clarion Living") are a quirky touch of individuality in what is otherwise a pretty standard good hotel. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff are excellent, the rooftop bar is OK.
