Thank you for letting us know. We dropped the breakfast long ago and do not understand the expectation. Our prices have reflected that change ever since, and we regularly check out "competition" by watching their reviews, visiting and staying at their locations, and talking with guests. We know our prices are a good value by comparison and stand by them.

Thank you for staying with us, for your comments, and for giving us your highest possible rating. Many guests over the years have mistaken the tiny holes in the furniture as damage, but they are not. It's part of the intentional "shabby chic/retro beachy" decor which is all going away over the next year or two as we catch up from our pandemic-delayed remodel. Hi Vicki,Thank you for being one of our regulars! We really appreciate our returning guests and that you report feeling safe here as a solo traveler. Did you try the white noise machine? There's one at every bedside for our lighter-sleeping guests. Incidentally, regarding the drapes and shears, new fabric is on order. We have a no-pet policy and based on records and a guest complaint we suspect someone got away with bringing a dog into that room. We expect to have the drapes replaced soon. Hello Keith,Thank you for staying with us and for posting your comments. You're right, just like most other lodgings (and homes, offices, shops, and stores) along the coast, we do not have AC. However, unlike other lodgings, we do provide portable fans in every room that help pull in the nearby river and ocean breezes to cool the rooms. We checked your room and found that the only "missing part" was that inconsequential little disk that pops into the tub/shower faucet that indicates the direction everyone already knows for hot and cold water. We apologize for that and are saddened that caused you to give us only 2 out of 5 for your stay. We'll just have to rely on thousands of other 4- and 5-star reviews over all the other platforms to speak to the continuity and consistency of living up to our mission statement: "To exceed guest expectations with a spotless, reasonably-priced, well-appointed room and exceptional service.” We wish you safe travels.
