Stayed in room 402 for just one night, but really wished I could have stayed longer. The rooms were really huge with plenty of facilities such as a Nespresso machine (with complementary coffee!), a bath tub and walk-in closet. It's situated just across the road from the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and walking distance to Teramachi and Nishiki market which are great places for shopping and finding good food. Staff was really helpful and recommended me a nearby restaurant for dinner. There are also plenty of information readily available from the information counter which was really helpful. 5 stars and would stay here again.
Elegant hotel. Wonderful service from all staff. Hotel is located on top of a subway and walking distance to Gion and all shopping streets as well as Niishi Market street.
My room had a lovely view to hills surrounding Kyoto. Hotel has a travel desk which is useful in a tourist town. Great stay.
Was a little hesitant at first seeing how nice the photos are on their official website. They are actually real!!
Room was clean, massive and loaded with toiletries and Yakuta ready. Futon beds were comfortable and staffs were very friendly and helpful.
In particular, staffs really went outta their way to help. Helped us find doctors, even try to get someone to take us there, offered umbrella to take to Osaka coz it's raining, called taxi and recommended trains to Osaka. The experience was great and really highlighted how friendly the Kyoto community is.
Thanks! Will definitely stay again
We absolutely loved staying here. The staff was so friendly, the space was beautiful and clean. Our room had plenty of space and even included a snack of tea and mochi when we got there!
I would say that it is worthwhile to purchase breakfast here. Yes it is a bit pricey, but we felt it was absolutely worth it in terms of the quality of food and how luxurious it felt. You receive a kaiseki-style assortment of small dishes (included roast fish or tofu, depending on the day), a full pot of tea, and coffee and/or orange juice. All this is in their beautiful dining room.
The ryokan also has little free events every now and then: while we were staying there, there was a shaved ice station one day and a zither performance another day. Wonderful stay!
Kyoto is a city for explorers, and the Hearton is ideally located to be home base. Whether walking, taking the subway, or (recommended) using the rental cycle service at the hotel, you can easily get to see much of what Kyoto has to offer, comfortably and easily.
Located in the center of Kyoto, this hotel is 1 km from the Daimaru Department Store and former Imperial Palace, and 2 km …More
