This hotel is in a lovely position, just on the edge off town.the room was excellent, the views down the lake even from the partial lake views were fantastic.the pool area looked newly renovated and was really well done.we didn't eat at the hotel.
This hotel is inside the old city of Sirimone, just a stone's throw from the beach, the thermal baths, and dozens of shops and restaurants lining the narrow stone-paved streets. Most visitors to Sirimone must park their cars outside the old city; however, as a hotel guest, you get the opportunity to drive in, navigating the maze of medieval lanes at a snail's pace before you reach the hotel parking lot, where you can leave your car as you enjoy the rest of your holiday on foot. The hotel obviously was a very nice place in its heyday; however, today it is tired. I am not sure how it still has four stars. The lobby and public areas are well-kept, but nothing has been updated in more than a decade. Our room was a family room - basically two bedrooms and a bathroom. The accommodations were sparse - bare floors, nothing hanging on the walls, and basic furnishings that were in serious need of replacement. While in the room, I felt like I was in a cheap conference center or dorm room. Each bedroom had a balcony with cheap plastic chairs but our balcony did not have much of a view, though some rooms facing the front of the hotel probably have views of the lake. The rooms in the photos looked nice and plush; our room was stark, bare, and cold. It took numerous requests for us to get the heat turned on and working properly. Would we visit again? Yes, because of the location, we would stay again if we could get a price consistent with 2-star hotels in the area.

Excellent food, exceptionally friendly owners and staff, hence we keep returning year after year as do many of the friends from different parts of the world whom we meet there each time. Cannot praise this hotel enough.

We much appreciated the hotel staff's smiling disposition and could fell that it was genuine. They were always helpful and kind. We thank them for a lovely stay! The only drawback is the limited access to the hotel on week-ends (we were denied access by the police at the gate entrance to the old part of Sermione and had to wait from 4PM to 7PM on a Saturday). Although it is written on the back that the hotel had issued us (we had not read this), it might be a good idea to point this out to the guests on arrival. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at hotel Mon repos and would return in the future.
Close to the harbour.
Lake view room gave us a very nice lake view with boats coming and going.
The hotel does not have a restaurant but is very close to many restauarant opportunities.
Difficult to fault in any way!

Location wise you could not ask for anything better.
The hotel is located in the heart of Sirmione town and to gain access you have to walk through the moat of the castle. Spectacular to say the least.
Sirmione is probably the most popular and busiest town in Garda and such a pretty town it is.
The hotel on the other hand didn't live up to expectations.
We requested a room with a view of the lake. We got this but the view was partly obscured by the roof of a restaurant in front of us, but it was passable....if you could close your eyes to the pale green decor top to bottom.
The room itself was very basic with old furniture and very small.
The air conditioning did not work, i think it needed gassing up.
Anyhow after several attempts and interventions to no avail, the hotel Manager decided to move us to the 'junior suite'.
Wow ! we thought, however the room albeit twice the size of the previous one, had no view apart from the back end of the hotel (ie no sea view) and one could hardly call it a junior suite, it was more like what i would expect for a normal room.
there was no point in complaining further because it would have spoiled our 2 nights there so we sucked it up. the main thing was - the air conditioning worked !
The breakfast was typical of Italy. Hams, cheese, salami, nothing special plus the eggs you had to boil yourself.
As i say the location was perfect but unfortunately that was about it.
