The properties service, amenities and staff was so terrible and disappointing. The money you paid for the property does not compensate with their service and amenities. Its not worthy to book on this property.

Dont be fooled by the pictures. The picture is of a neighboring hotel. You have access to the use of their pool. And access to their beach. But Soto is across the street. Food was not the best. Room was a nice size but the balcony fot the room was only large enough for the 2 AC units. So dont waste your money on that room. Not sure if I would return.

Don’t stay here really
Would not stay here again. Very misleading advertising, this place is in the middle of nowhere with nothing out there, you have to take a taxi to get anywhere. No pool onsite you have to go to the resort next door, no shops you have to get a taxi, room service next to nonexistent as is the wifi so forget checking email or Facebook. Average breakfast supplied and no other option unless you get a taxi. Got a free upgrade but the room had no hot water at all, after we complained and actually left and paid to stay somewhere else for 2 nights we got moved to another room with a nice view but that room had no wifi at all, the TV was faulty and so was the AC in the bedroom. The place is rundown and poorly maintained we just gave up complaining. Looks like it was built 20 odd years ago and the developers went broke, zombie apocalypse springs to mind as you walk the deserted development and rubbish covered tennis courts. Pick somewhere else to stay, unfortunately we had booked and paid for 8 nights which was non refundable but ended paying for nights elsewhere anyway

Not worth the money.Their foods was so expensive.And items list on their menu are not available.I have to request for room transfer because the door wouldn’t shut by it self, you have to slam it. AC drips all the time in both rooms. No hot shower in both rooms we were in.Bathrooms are so tiny, no rooms for toiletries.They put all the towels beside the sink.🙄🙁Big lobby but not enough furnitures/couch to sit for the guest.Wifi SUCK! Have to get a pocket wifi that available at the front desk.INFAIRNESS staffs are really nice.

The location ia a little out of the way, but as a good security perimeter that mad for safe long walks in the morning by the seafront. Beaches were nicely groomed and clean. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and made it a great place to vacation. Highly recommend it to anyone staying in Cebu.

Don't go to the Soto Grande. It is closed for renovations but they don't tell you until you get there. By then they have you. It was non refundable, so they just put you in a sister hotel which is very isolated, requiring a cab to go anywhere. Orbitz will get an ear full later.

Dear Valued Guest, Sorry for the short notice regarding with our rennovation. Due to unexpected problem with the main line of the water supply that bursted out from the ceiling of our lobby, we have to close the hotel immediately. this issue has been fixed already.

The service of staff not helpful. No room service for breakfast until after 12pm.Because they had a buffet. So they told me to go to the hotel next door to get breakfast. Or order it from them and they will do room service. I have never slept in a bed that squeaked so much the bed felt like it was about to collapse. Loose cables and exposed wiring on kettle and lamp. Dirty in lift ,foyer and corridors. Pictures looked good but the hotel didn't live up to the pictures.

Hotel room was nice but the bed was a little uncomfortable, the hotel is not far from the airport but anyone who has traveled to the Philippines knows how traffic there is and adds to your travel time greatly, and expensive to get a taxi to the hotel through the hotel... better off getting a grab taxi. Unfortunately if you want to see any of the attractions in the city it will take time to get to them, other than that the stay was enjoyable and above all the staff are great, very friendly, all around pleasant to talk to and deal with. Food was great also.

Customer service was very poor. WiFi is very slow and in my booking the free breakfast is included and when you check in customer service did even follow up if it’s free or not. I have to call Expedia and end up no complimentary breakfast included.

hotel needs update for the amount of money we paid, everything to include a bucket of ice was an extra charge. The beach closed at 5 PM which was way to early. I do not think I will stay here again. There appeared to be mold on the ceiling where the paint had came off and the tub was so slippery that I fell and got a bruise on the back of my leg.

Hello, Susan! We are very sorry for the inconvenience susan, our hotel is a bit old but we're already working on it and the renovation in some of the rooms are ongoing. Our beach closes 5 PM because our concern is the safety of everyone. We have swimming pools that closes 8 PM and 9:40 PM which is safe for children and adults. we were upgraded to a suite for free and that's great, however some equipments are defective like 🛀 doesn't work, bedroom ac needs cleaning i think since it's a bit hot in our bedroom no matter how many times we try to adjust the ac. pool was great since you can choose from different resorts but u need to walk a little since it's in different building

disappointing location
Hotel is average, rooms are clean but a little bit dated. Water pressure in shower was good but the water was an unusual yellow. Breakfast is buffet but does not have a huge range. Biggest disappointment is the location, as there is absolutely nothing within walking distance.

This be good place for family to go to stay safe
Got to hotel had wait for room , then a/c not work n room , hotel try fix a/c then hotel change me to another room . Then wifi not work n the room , but had good view of water , service was good , breakfast was good , pool was nice , To go to small beach had get pass to go . If you wanted to go out had get your own taxi and taxi was only way to go out . The hotel next to this hotel had lots water sports to do .

our stay was great but no enough information about activities or tours around the city. did not offer any complimentary drinks for is while we're waiting for our room. employee offered to foreign tourists but not to local tourists. lack of tour information like brochures or flyers on what to do around the city if we didn't ask. they did not inform us what and where we can go during our stay, even where to eat at night. they are more accommodating to foreign tourists like the Koreans. I am a naturalized US citizen Filipino but they don't bothered to offered me something while we were waiting at the lobby, but they offered drinks to foreign tourists sitting next to us...limited time to get a shuttle ride to go out of the area

there is a private beach and the water is comparatively clean. staff is nice but very inefficient - they don't answer to calls even the front desk and the operator. Asking for a hair dryer took hours, ice was chargeable, and they don't even have bottle opener for guest in the whole resort. In fact the hotel itself is nice and location is good, if they can improve their efficiency I think I will go back again.

I booked this hotel through Expedia and checked in at 5pm but they told me that my room was still not ready so I had to wait in the lobby which had an overpowering smell of bleach ( the bleach smell was there the entire week of my stay). They finally checked me in but put me in a regular room when I had paid for a suite. This error went unnoticed until the following day and they did put me in a suite but I had to make 5 requests before they made an adjustment to my bill for the difference in room rates. There is only one restaurant in the hotel and the waitstaff was horrible. The typical wait was 15-20 minutes for a drink and a 1/2 hour for food. To get to the hotel from the main road you have to travel through a pretty rough neighborhood so it is advisable to get a taxi however because of the remote location the cab driver charge and extra fee just to go there. Also the wifi was down the entire week of my stay even though the 2 sister hotels next door had operating wifi. With the inconvenient location, lack of service by the staff and lack of amenities in the hotel I would recommend spending a little more and going to a resort that has direct beach access and more than one restaurant option with a better trained staff. It would be worth it!

The hotel was not in a good location and too far removed from everything. They did provide a shuttle but only until 5pm. The internet was very weak and was sporadic. The staff were friendly, but they tried to get me to pay for a lost key and I refused. They also got our order wrong at the restaurant and were out of several of the food items requested. I would rate the hotel as average.

Wouldn't recommend
Not very impressed with our stay. The room was very dirty and very dated. We might as well have used a rock as a pillow as the ones provided were terribly hard. We both got sick from eating in the restaurant and when told about it the reception staff laughed it off.

Great
Only a short taxi ride from the airport, the room was clean and the view was awesome. The staff were great and went out of the way to make sure everything was good. I will stay again and would tell anyone heading to Cebu to stay here.

Worst hotel!
We arrived in Cebu City last March 4, 2016 till March 7, 2016. Upon taking a taxi from Mactan Cebu International Airport we arrived at Sotogrande and together with my husband, mom and dad presented our expedia booking to the front desk. My mom and I had separate booking since we are going to stay in 2 different rooms but we had the same booking in Expedia. The receptionist at the front desk seemed to be lost as she does not know what a booking in expedia means. My mom even told her what seems to be the problem? Our credit card has already been charged can't you find our booking? After a few minutes the receptionist asked me to just give her the paper which had our booking and if they could keep it and I without realizing that our return ticket was also printed in there gave it to her and she gave us our room key number. The housekeeping was nice. The Cafeteria department was the worst. It is really hot in Cebu so I ordered Halo Halo and they told me there was no ice cream. They are so lazy that when I ordered Hot Green Tea they told me at first we have to check first if they have a green tea. What hotel does not have a green tea and when he came back he gave me a cup of green tea without the tea bag. Well I paid for it so why would he not give me the tea bag. I've been to a lot of hotels all over the world and this is the first time I have encounter something like this. the hallway smells really bad. Wet water that didnt dry.

Good from far, but FAR from good.
Check-in was a breeze (even with add'l, non-guests in our party that were there to eat). The hotel ground and pools (though aged & in a tropical environment) were better than anticipated (clean, manicured). The rooms were an entirely different story. This would be a 1-star hotel if it were not for the location & the hard-working, attentive staff (no complaints with any of our interactions). Its almost as if they understand the pitfalls of the property, want to do the best they can to ensure you have a good stay, but the management/owners won't invest in the property they have. I booked 4 rooms (3 Deluxe, 1 Suite), all Deluxe Rooms were outfitted well, but the Suite was lacking a safe & room service menu. These were provided after a call down to the front desk. From 10' away, everything looks great, but beware of taking a closer look. Just in the Suite, we found: 1 Bubbling paint in the upper corners of the walls (on a middle floor). 2 Haphazard painting (so much so that white paint ran over the edges of the headboard/wall hanging). 3 Headboard sections that were not secured (we only slept on one side of the bed for fear of falling). 4 A/C units with moisture stains running 3-4' down the wall. 5 Exposed outlets & lamp switches taped in the ON position with painters' tape. 6 Exposed (by a 1/4") screws in the walls. 7 Loose/detached towel racks and handicap handrails in the tub (very slippery!) 8 Gross mini fridge. Great price; but be ready for the stay.
