Unfortunately the Hotel was under renovations so entrance was a bit chaotic but staff managed to unload efficiently. I had two rooms on different floors. The family room was renovated but the other room wasn't. I found the shower in the family room to be one of the best experienced in all the hotels I have been to. Beds were comfortable. My sister and niece said their room was ok. Location was excellent, with shopping, restaurants very close by. We did venture up to the bar on the 27th floor but was told it was full which was a disappointment as we were leaving the next day. Definitely will return to this Hotel and hopefully renovations will be complete.
I stayed at Lanson Place for 8 nights.
Hotel is located really central in Causeway Bay - close to convenience stores and good restaurants (Xiao Long Bao is across the road).
- Comfortable, well-sized room.
- Hotel guests are given a Handy phone with free 3G across the city and free international calls to some countries. I can't overstate how great it was having a free phone with access to Google Maps.
- Hotel room was full of free goodies (food, drinks, etc) upon check-in
- Hotel staff were exceptionally friendly.
- Free access to gym.
- Access to laundry room in hotel.
- All staff seem to be fluent in English.
- Gym is okay, but treadmills are mostly not functional.
- Room AC seems to be set to 14 degrees and I couldn't change it
- Standard pillow given is the worst. Didn't realise until the last day that there was a "pillow menu" (hidden in a draw of the desk).
- It would be great if they turned the ground floor sit-down area of the hotel into a casual cafe or something. To introduce a little bit of liveliness into the hotel. I went days without seeing people sometimes.
All in all, would happily stay here again!!

The location is fantastic - the Causeway Bay MTR station is only a quick walk away, it's so near shopping places (like Hysan Place and Times Square) and there are fantastic eats nearby. The hotel staff are super friendly and helpful and they made us feel so welcome. Breakfast is simple (hot tea & coffee, cereal, toast, pastries, fruit) but good enough for me to start the day! I like that guests can help themselves to juice and hot drinks any time of day at the lobby. The handy phone was also a big plus. We were there with friends so the phone allowed us to keep in touch easily.
Because J Plus is a small boutique hotel, the service is personable which is great. However, it also means limited facilities (no pool, no spa, small gym, etc...) and tight spaces (narrow corridors, small lifts, etc...). For me, the pros definitely outweighed the cons and I'll be back for sure!

This was my first time at Somerset and I was more than happy about everything here.
the location is right in the heart of Tin Hau's restaurant area for any type of foods.
It is also just a short distance to the MTR and even shorter to the tram stop, another winner is that the airport express bus stop is just at the end of the street.
The room although smallish was still the perfect size for what we wanted with plenty of storage and a nice sized bathroom and shower.
This is a new looking hotel and is immaculate from start to finish.

Overall the cleanness can be better as the sheets haven't been changed and some rubbish still lay around after clearing on the next day. (I've stay 2 nights in total)
The fridge in the room is not cold/cool at all so we can't keep any drinks or cold food in the room.
The room is a bit small but is nice and comfortable, location of the hotel is not too bad but it's still take about 5/10 mins walk from the closest MTR.
A swimming pool facility would be brilliant as the gym room is like the size of a toilet which can only fit maximum with 2/3 peoples.
The buffet can have more choice of foods but the taste is not bad so overall is not bad.

Also referred to as East Point, Causeway Bay is a shoppers’ delight. This high-density district is home to a large number of trendy stores, shopping malls, the 13-story Sogo Department Store, and Times Square indoor shopping complex. Here, both local and imported fashion labels hang side by side. Many stores are open until the wee hours.
