“Lovely hotel, but graffiti spoils area”
This is a lovely, well-equipped hotel on the seafront at Catanzaro Lido. The staff are attentive and cheery, and the hotel has received a major facelift within the last couple of years in the grand style favoured in southern Italy. There is a small car park opposite the hotel in a side street and a private beach (pebbles) across the main road. The hotel restaurant is good and there is a new, fairly stylish pizza parlour next door if you want a pizza. (the hotel doesn't have them on the menus).
The only let down is Catanzaro Lido itself. A lot of money has been spent on the beach-side walk, but there is graffiti everywhere and no less than four lots of trash containers along the sea front near the hotel. Does the city not care?
