“Excellent value 4* hotel”

My family stayed at this hotel for two nights, while stopping off in Catania. We had a family room which had two double beds and a single. The room was very comfortable with a 32" LCD TV. We had a great view over the pool. The buffet breakfast was of a very high standard and plenty of it, both hot and cold food available. The bathroom even had a spa/whirlpool bath! The kids loved it. Well worth the 4* rating. There is a shuttle bus which runs direct from the hotel into Catania and is complementary, which we used each day. Lovely location next to the coast. The nearest beach is a few kilometers away.

“Very nice people”

They took me to a free health clinic when I got sick. They translated the medication' directions for me and really catered to me. I love this hotel.

“Not Rushing Back...”

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Hotel but the experience we had wasn't matched to what was expressed on the website. It was a very busy, noisy area (right across a busy road) especially at night. The website made it appear like a quiet area but it's certainly not. There were a few restaurants across the road which were lovely and considerably cheaper than the hotel. The pool was lovely, but the beach wasn't great as there was decking instead of sand. We didn't particularly like Catania but did enjoy visiting Mount Etna. We found it very difficult to find the hotel, even with GPS. We generally had a lovely time but wouldn't necessarily recommend it. We wanted a relaxing holiday somewhere hot and sunny, and we got pretty close to that.

“Not a Good experience”

Description of hotel states you can get a room view of volcano Mt. Etna... well, doesn't exist! there is no view and it is nowhere in the area of the volcano... It is almost a 30 minute drive by a hired guide (that the hotel provides a brochure of to hire)... Besides the hotel resturant and bar there are only 2 local places to eat... Which the food was horrible... the deli cold sandwiches are the best.. There is trash EVERYWHERE, graffiti on every building.. so disappointed..The impression given to me from all locals was they hate Americans.. Do NOT get a personal taxi.. they want 70 to 100 euros wherever you want to go..(airport)..From Airport go to Kiosk.."Hollywood, Rent a Driver"... cost 25 euros and "Santo" was very nice.. Noone really speaks any english..including one of the hotel receptions.. Which was VERy upsetting when I needed them to call me a ride to the airport... My tour to the volcano was my only wonderful experience... Other than that.. I will never return..

“Nice place to stay but very isolated”

Overall the hotel was fine. The pool area was easy to access and not overcrowded. The hotel runs a shuttle service into Catania but the last service back was 10pm and the bus could have dropped quests nearer to Catania's main attractions. The hotel did not have many fascilities which is understandable because it is not a resort hotel. However, snacks and drinks were extremely expensive and the menu was limited. There were very few organised trips available (Eta being the main one) and the location of the hotel made it difficult to access other locations on the island without having to hire a car. It must be said we enjoyed our holiday but would have liked to have been able to access other places on the island.
