“Excellent staff... hotel has a curious yet comfortable style.”
The front desk and even the lovely young lady that serves breakfast were all super charming and helpful. Desk staff especially went above and beyond what i would expect in terms of personalized service, all done with true kindness & professionalism. Rooms were impressively large for Italy - we were given a "junior suite" that had an extra little room attached to it.
“Catania, Sicily”
Amazing hotel, absolutely beautiful building, immaculately presented. Staff are wonderful, exceptionally helpful and friendly, and speak good english, which can be useful with a limited Italian vocabulary! The town iself is lovely, plenty to see and do, whether you want to be a tourist or make you own way around. Little run-down in places, and a bit of a graffiti problem all over town, but all of the main areas are perfectly fine, just like any other town really, good areas and slightly dodgy looking ones, just use your initiative! Also, as we found out, it's virtually impossible to have a bad meal anywhere, so take a chance on any restaurant you see. Would definitely recommend an excursion up Mt. Etna, truly awe-inspiring, and tantalisingly visible from the middle of town, which is not something you get everywhere. Constantly active as well, which is slighlty unnerving initially... With regards to beaches, there are some tourist lidos which are fine, if a little over-priced and very touristy, but for a proper local experience, take a 20 minute bus ride up the coast to Acitrezza and Acicastello, two beautiful lava sand beaches which are a little less comfortable than the lidos, but the swimming is better and it's not so artificial. Plus, there's some amazing volcanic scenery to be had. I'd go back tomorrow, if I could...
“Liberty”
This hotel had faultless service, we arrived outside kitchen times but it was no effort to make a simple meal, basically anything we asked for was no effort to the staff at all. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anybody, we would stay there again.
“Amazing staff!”
The people here made you feel at home. I have found that customer service is Europe is not to the same standards we expect in the states, but the service at the Liberty Hotel was impeccable. There was nothing they wouldn’t help you with. The food is good and the wine is great. For being such a small hotel (only 18 rooms I think) their attention to detail really shows. If I ever make it back to Catania, I will definitely be staying at the Liberty again.
“Home from home”
Liberty hotel was a very centrally placed hotel with all the tourist sights within walking diatance.the rooms were very comfortable and the staff ever so willing and warm./Francesca and Francesco recommended the most amazing reataurants for dinner. They are so knowledgeable. Will go back again sometime
“great experience”
great hotel with great staff, minutes away from the downtown action of Catania. Fantastic restaurants all within walking distance. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the city itself. Unclean, covered with graffiti, traffic a total disaster, traffic lights and stop signs don't mean much. As far as the hotel is concerned we were more than happy.
“Cataniagem”
This is one of the most beautiful hotels that we have ever stayed in. We rented a junior suite and the furniture, decorations, and lighting were stellar. It is short ride from the airport and and excellent place to start a Sicilian vacation. It is walking distance to many of the main attractions. This is a must stay if you are going to be stopping in Catania.
“Excellent Hotel”
We chose this hotel based on reviews that we had read online. I have to say that this hotel is beautiful, and that the staff is excellent. They were extremely friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful place to stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
“Great Location in Catania”
Everything was fabulous, including the daily breakfast. It was a great price too. The only problem was the bed was really hard. Some travelers might like that but I didn't, as I prefer a softer mattress.
“A gem”
This hotel is a gem within easy walking distance of everything. The staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. The breakfast service was the best, a table loaded with yummy fresh food and coffee made to order. Very elegant. Since I was traveling alone, my room was somewhat cramped, but much better than in other hotels I have visited. I asked to see the other rooms and they were fabulous.
