“Old world charm”

This is an excellent boutique hotel. The staff was very welcoming and efficient, and took care of all my needs. The Hotel was centrally located with easy access to public transportation. I would gladly stay here again if I ever returned to Catania.

“Well located hotel in Catania”

The Hotel Royal is well located just off the central area in Catania. Being slightly tucked away it may be a good idea to take a taxi there. We stayed in the standard rooms which were very acceptable and would be tempted to try the superior rooms on our next visit. In April Catania is quieter and cooler than high season. The small veranda looking down the road gave a real sense of being in the centre of town but sufficiently high up the hill to maintain a distance.

“Very impressed”

Would recommend this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, they all spoke very good English. Room and hotel in general very clean and well maintained. Good location for the main amenities in Catania.

“Lovely hotel - just sort out the hiccups”

This is a really lovely hotel. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, the staff really helpful and friendly and the dining area perfect. It is close to the centre with all the shops and the cathedral and within easy access of local transport. I would have given this hotel five out of five if it had delivered what it offered. Part of the initial attraction to the Hotel Royal was the hot tub and the health suite, but both were out of order, so my friends and I didn't really chill out as we'd expected. A minor point - two bulbs were broken in my room and asked twice a day for three days and eventually left without getting new bulbs. The little things matter. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay.

“Good location and friendly staff”

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a little different. The walls were covered with a padded satin material. Just a couple of blocks from all restaurants and shopping. Only 15 minute ride (at most) from the airport. But, the taxi that was arranged by the hotel charged 30 euro for the ride which seemed pretty high.

“Royal Hotel - Great base to explore the east of Sicily”

The hotel is amazing!! Our room was beutiful, the food is stunning and the staff are extremely friendly. The location is excellent - we hired a car and the street is so easy to find from the east of the city (huge tree lined hill) and parking is easy. Both reception and bar staff were great but are definately Sicilian - things do not happen immediatly! Breakfast (esp Cappuccino) is fab and the food in the terrace resteraunt is superb, all Sicilian with a modern twist (tuna steak with onion ice cream & breaded sardines with chocolate particularly great!) Note: Air con in rooms confusing and hotel dont provide instuctions to this or to Sky - ask at reception :) Jacuzzi on roof wasnt working but great views of the bay and Etna Overall though we had 10 great nights here and would totally recommend it :)

“Great hotel”

Nice hotel, very central. Staff very helpful. Food and service in restaurant excellent but expensive. There are plenty of other good places to eat nearby. Only downside was the temperature in the room which we were unable to change as appeared to be centrally set. Despite this would stay there again.

apart fromsome difficulty with unnecessary electrics which did not always work and bed headlights which also did not function a very good place to stay with very helpful staff.
