“"Pleasantly surprised"”
Hotel royal is a lovely place with very interesting history and artwork. I enjoyed my stay there.
“Would definitely recommend”
Very clean hotel with friendly staff and well decorated. Was nice to be able to eat good food at the restaurant on the roof at night.
“Good location and friendly staff”
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a little different. The walls were covered with a padded satin material. Just a couple of blocks from all restaurants and shopping. Only 15 minute ride (at most) from the airport. But, the taxi that was arranged by the hotel charged 30 euro for the ride which seemed pretty high.
“A beautiful small classic hotel”
This hotel, located close to the centre of Catania, blends into the streetscape but opens into a fine old hotel. The staff are very courteous and helpful. Parking costs extra but is secure and convenient, in the courtyard. The hotel restaurant is veryhigh class, witha limted menu. Mount Etna is visible form many rooms and the restaurant.
“Best hotel of our trip”
The room in this hotel border on luxurious. Great views from the window and balcony. Fantastic location, near the cathedral, main shopping and eating district. We had a reservation at another hotel which got cancelled, so we got upgraded to this hotel - best luck ever!
“Old world charm”
This is an excellent boutique hotel. The staff was very welcoming and efficient, and took care of all my needs. The Hotel was centrally located with easy access to public transportation. I would gladly stay here again if I ever returned to Catania.
“Luke warm jacuzzi but warm reception”
Hotel; interesting décor in an old building, a bit dark but architecture dictates the mood. Good location to explore city but better places to be in Sicily I think. Breakfast good but monotonous. Receptionists on the whole wonderful and helpful.
“Excellent customer service enhanced great hotel”
We were really impressed with this hotel, which was the cheapest of the four we stayed in during our holiday in Sicily but by far the best. The hotel itself was very stylish and in great condition (it only loses one mark for two bulbs being out in our room throughout our stay), with the terrace of the restaurant lovely at breakfast and the roof terrace offering some great views for quiet moments. It was also well located - admittedly up a hill so not ideal for all but within 5-10 minutes walk of all of the main sites and with great restaurants just around the corner. The real defining feature for us though was the staff, who went out of their way to help us. The two best examples were when we were offered the loan of the receptionist's motorbike to travel to the beach as he didn't have a car to take us himself and the housekeeping staff, having noticed that we slept with blankets on our first night, adjusting the air conditioning in our room. Generally though we were always treated well, with great restaurant recommendations and helpful gestures all along the way. We really can't speak highly enough of this hotel and would definitely recommend it to others.
“Best in Sicily”
This was by far the best hotel we stayed in Sicily, it has a convenient ubication, ther service is excelent, the rooms are amazing, the terraze where we had breakfast is great. The only bad thing is that is a bit far from the bus station and it is hard to find taxis if you arrive late in the evening. Make sure to catch one because the walk is long and is upward.
“Great Find”
Wonderful experience. Front desk clerk was former Italy fencing champion and very engaging and helpful. Arranged for to-go breakfast due to our early morning departure to catch a flight. Roof terrace restaurant equally engaging. Felt like we were staying at an elegant private club/residence. Parking on-site in courtyard. Most impressed with service, friendliness and overall character. Only wished we had more than one short night there.
