“not so impressed; in particilar with the sea, the breakfast and the spa”
Most of the staff in this hotel do not speak good english and this can be a problem. the sea is dirty, the breakfast choice extremely poor especially if you're staying for a week and also they try to rip off foreigners. I booked a no of treatments in the spa and I was charged higher prices to those i was given through the spa's treatment list transalted in english. They used all sort of excuses and at the end refunded one of the tratments. However, it looks like they try to take advantage of the foreigners. However the pool and the restuarant are good and could be even better if staff spoke better english or even other languages.
“Very comfortable”
The hotel is of an excellent standard, but is located far put of town and is not the place if you are aiming to spend time in Catania or be within easy reach of the bus or train station. However, if you are looking for a place to just relax by the pool, this is it.
“Amazing Italian Oasis In Sicily”
Beautiful place, with lots of personality and a general good feeling about everything. Staff are super polite and friendly, everybody smiles and the Italian flexibility to please is taken to a different level here. The restaurant is just fabulous, overlooking the sea, on a terrace, the food can't be any better. Fresh and sophisticated food with excellent wine, served by wonderful people I didn't need to leave the hotel. For lunch the bar offers excellent choice of food from fresh salads to a hot panini, fresh fruit, granita (try that!). Best coffee ever as well. If you are looking for a very nice place to stay with a good feeling and not false pretensions this is your place.
“very nice hotel,just....”
we really enjoyed our stay there, just we expected that indoor swiming pool will be free, unfortunately it's 30euros per person (inc.sauna)and you have to prebook it.So,exept this everything was fine;-breakfast buffet had various food to choose, the views around hotel were amazing, staff helpfull and etc.
“Good place to relax”
An excellent place to relax after a stressful business trip. Good pool, swimming from the rocks, good restaurant in an arresting location. And very helpful service
“Great area -”
The hotel is around 30 mins from the airport in Catania and set amongst the rocky lava by the sea. Very picturesque. The hotel looks amazing from the pool side. Although the staff were friendly, they took their time to see to us when we arrived after being up at 3am and heavily pregnant I was in need of getting organised and getting to the room as quickly as possible. The hotel as a whole is old fashioned although very clean. The hotel had a great restaurant but with a limited range of food. The service in the restaurant was outstanding and well recommended. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic, clean and great views of the poolside but you need to book these upgrades. The rooms could do with bath robes, slippers and more towels other than one each. The service could be improved by the poolside staff offering a proactive round the pool service. Staff not very knowledgeable about outside of Catania. Overall a 3 - 3.5 star but not 4. But a great relaxing break and hotel. Would recommend it for short breaks. Great with children!!
“Lovely coastal location”
The hotel is well positioned on the cliffs overlooking the sea, which you can swim in on calm days, although large pool (unheated) offers much easy swimming. The hotel is comfortable and staff are friendly. Not sure if it is quite 4* perhaps 3.5*. It is kept very clean. Overall a restful and relaxing location with easy access by bus to Catania and local coastal towns. If you plan to travel further a hire car is the best option. The only comment would be the lack of variation and dining choices. Breakfast buffet was ok with plantly of choice but not much hot food. Lunch and dining are more challenging. There didn't seem to be much available for lunchtime and dining was higher price formal dining. Basically a lack of informal food options. See dinnig tips below. Perhaps this is just an out of season issue, we went in May. The spa facilities were a let down, it was extra cost to use the facilities which were nice but not worth the payment. We were expecting the basics to be complimentary to the hotel guests and the additional treatments seemed expensive. We decided not to indulge after an indifferent experience using the spa pool and facilities.
“fortunato 1947”
Bellisima posizione, panorama splendido, ambiente confortevole, personale garbato e professionale.
“Hotel molto vicino alla città e comodo da raggiungere.”
Ottimo hotel lo consiglierei a chiunque famiglie e non, posizionato su una bellissima scogliera. Parcheggio interno Camere spaziose e sempre in ordine, colazione abbondante e varia. Personale gentile e disponibile. Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti.
