“Very odd experience!”
Our experience at this hotel was surreal! We had booked the junior suite but when we saw the room we were very disappointed as there was no outside area and felt very enclosed. Considering this place is in the middle of nowhere we would have gone stir crazy if we had had to sit in that room all the time! As a result we asked to see alternative rooms and were shown the suite and an ordinary room. The ordinary room was right next door to the suite and identical apart from the lack of a small sitting room so we opted to move to the ordinary room, despite having paid for the junior suite. Other travelers have remarked about the hotel not being busy and we found this the case too. Unfortunately this was somewhat eerie as there was just no noise at all! We ate there one night and were the only people in the restaurant later being joined by two other couples. There was no music playing and it was a huge room with wall length mirrors which just made you feel very lonely and uncomfortable! The food was bad too so we ended up eating out for lunch the next day and buying rolls and cheese from the supermarket to eat on our patio in the evening! Also the restaurant was overrun with ants crawling all over the floor around our table - most off putting. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. You cannot walk to anywhere for something to eat or drink and given the poor standard of food in the hotel this was a major weakness which has led to our overall rating of 2.
“Wow, what a find!”
Fantastic 5 star find and Expedia special rate was an incredible bonus but you need a car to get there and around. Once off the highway it's one road but you've got 30 minutes of climbing with lots of turns. Plan to get there in the daytime until you learn the road. Elegant and modern building, full spa, outdoor pool and beautifully appointed rooms and common areas. Surrounded by golf course and vineyard perched on the northface of Mt. Etna volcano. You see the steam rising and snow on the cap. 45-60 minutes from Taormina (don't miss it) Giardini Naxos(the beaches city).Plenty to chose for breakfast and all staff friendly and helpful. A/C; good size washroom; good beds; fridge and mini bar; flastscreen LCD etc. and our room had a patio with good privacy. Place is absolutely spotless. Some of the artwork was "interesting". They offer dinner but we ate out.
“Premium accomodation set in a stunning location”
Hotel was simply stunning.Excellent standard of furnishing staff very friendly and helpful would highly recommend.Will definately be returning in the future for a longer stay. Couldn`t fault anything about the hotel just could not understand why the hotel was massively underbooked ?? Can only presume it is in an undiscovered area of Sicily although Taormina was only 20 minutes away.I would finally like to say that is the best hotel i have ever stayed in and i have been travelling for the past 25 Years to various parts of Europe!!
“Überfordertes Personal und Servicewüste”
Wir hatten ein Deluxe-Zimmer mit Balkon gebucht und das Management versuchte uns ein normales Zimmer zum Hinterhof oder auf Beschwerde ein anders ohne Balkon anzubieten. Nach den Unterlagen des Hotels waren wir für ein normales Zimmer gebucht. Die Rezeptionsmitarbeiter waren nicht in der Lage uns ein geeignetes Zimmer anzubieten und schließlich mussten wir mit einem erheblichen Aufpreis eine Suite annehmen, um uns den Aufenthalt nicht zu vermiesen. Das Abendessen war am ersten Abend eine Katastophe, da eine amerikanische Reisegruppe eingetroffen war und das Personal total überforderte. Am zweiten Abend wurden wir dafür beim Abendessen mit einem besseren Service entschädigt. Insgeamt muss in diesem relativ neuen und schönen Hotel der Service noch erheblich optimiert werden.

Ottima struttura alle pendici dell'Etna sarebbe ottimo se fosse collocato in posizione più adiacente al mare ed alle belezze della costa mentre invece è situato a 15 km dall'uscita autostradale di Fiumefreddo e con scarse indicazioni sulla strada.

Hotels très agréable, personnel à votre écoute. Dommage que la piscine intérieur soit payante et quand même un peu cher. Sinon rien à dire tout etait super

“Amerika in Italien”
Das Hotel ist sehr schön aber nach unserem Geschmack zu amerikanisch für eine Lage in Italien. Es ist sehr grosszügig gebaut und die Zimmer sind sehr gross. Der Blick von unserem Zimmer ging genau auf das Green des 18ten Lochs und den Golf Club. Leider gibt es keinen Balkon auf dem man sich am Abend zurückziehen kann. Was uns sehr missfallen hat, war die Tatsache, dass man für das Spa EURO 25 extra zahlen musste, dies ist bei den doch recht hohen Zimmerpreisen nicht zu erwarten. Ferner muss man einen WLAN Zugang extra bezahlen auch dies ist sicher nicht zeitgemäss. Das Hotel besitzt leider keine Bar / Restaurant im Freien und so mussten wir auf den Golf Club ausweichen. Das Restaurant ist sehr steril gehalten und läd nicht gerade zum Verweilen ein. Sicher entspricht der Stil nicht der Lage des Hotels in Italien, da hätten wir uns mehr erwartet. Positiv ist die Nähe zu dem sehr interessante Golf Kurs, der sehr sehr schön, aber auch sehr anspruchsvoll ist. Wir würden aber nochmals dort einen Urlaub verbringen um Golf zu spielen.

Unité de lieu : hôtel , restaurant , piscine , spa , golf cadre magique : flanc nord de l'Etna , 700m altitude , 30kms Taormine et mer ionienne villages typiques : Castiglione , Randazzo Hôtel récent ( juillet 2008 ) avec tout le confort et un chef spécialiste en "pastas" à se damner .... à tester absolument : pâtes aux fruits de mer !
