Great hotel with wonderful breakfast. Staff very helpful. Bar great and food good. Close to all ameneties and restaurants and close to the Old Town and the river. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. Beds and pillows so comfortable.
The hotel lobby was wonderful with that luxurious old world feel, but the curbside assistance with luggage was too little too late.
Reception and concierge were excellent and knowledgeable. They accommodated our very early arrival and our very late check out with a smile. But it would have helped to know that the main electricity button for the room would not work for up to 10 minutes after our arrival. We hit the main button and then tried to turn on lights and it was a good thing we arrived during the day.
We absolutely loved the period pieces of furniture but they were obviously well worn. The thickly painted trim around the doors and windows made them almost impossible to open and close, BUT the views were worth the effort!
Room service was impeccable as were the staff that delivered our selections.
Have stayed at this hotel every year the seven years and have always had pleasant experience. The breakfast is expensive (as always) and the air conditioning was broke (hence 4 star for room comfort).
We mainly stay here for it's location, it's near the Konigsalle and far enough away from the Old Town to keep the noise down but still walkable.
The perk of this hotel is Rosie's Cafe accross the road. A must for a late night cocktail or for a relaxed evening meal.
Ten minute walk from central station, quiet, cool, comfortable and well ventilated room. Professional and friendly staff, decent breakfast, good selection of quality restaurants nearby. Large supermarket nearby (kaufhof). Oh, and a nice strong wifi for free.
Only complaint is that it was on a busy street and being summer the room was going to be warm or window open with lots of noise outside. If it was not July-August this would probably not be a problem. Hotel was extremely clean and had a nice lobby with bar, fussball table, pool table and offered a breakfast buffet at a low price. There was also a bakery about two doors down and it is between 1/2-1 mile from the train station or you could catch the s-bahn two blocks away.
