We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Europa.
It is a little hard to find - don't depend on your Garmin.
New owner is working hard to make everything about your stay in this hotel a pleasant experience. He speaks great English and the rest of the staff at the desk will work to communicate or get help. Breakfast was pretty good. The facility appears to have been freshly painted and everything sparkles.
There is gated parking lot which is a plus.
Room was very comfortable when we were in it. They have an energy saving program which shuts down everything when you are out of room. This made for a little warm room when returning but not a terribly big issue. It is the reason I scored comfort at a 4 instead of 5.
Couldn't find the place, bad signage and unhelpful locals.
On arrival at 1030pm we were given a bottle of opened still water and charged for it.
We woke to a view of the ship yard.
No chairs in the room or balcony.
The shower did not work, after 2 attempts to repair it, I did it my self.
Breakfast was a cheap yougart, a floppy coisant, processed meat and cheese,
inedible cereal, nice coffee, horrible milk and jams.
No where to eat well in town.
No where to walk.
We felt thouroughly let down.
"Seaview room has beautiful sights from the balcony"
Hotel staff were the highlight of my stay, Very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Sea view room had an amazing view. Close to shops, beach and train station. Hotel room was clean but basic with no English sky channels. Advertised as having a Turkish bath and spa but there isn't one. Recommend the cooking classes they offer. Boat trip not so good for the price unfortunately.

We arrived with some trepidation after reading some of the reviews and driving through the town of Castellamare di Stabia which has clearly seen better days, has lost its major tourist attractions (the cable car, swimming at the very big beach and the thermal baths old and new). The hotel itself is from another time, but as we settled in we appreciated the friendly staff, the quietness, the pool and the superb view across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. Don't expect luxury modern sun loungers, but this hotel is the perfect base for a memorable trip around the area because it is so well located, and in walking distance of the railway station which connects Naples to Sorrento, with stops at Herculaneum and Pompeii. We had a car, but you could do without here - not so easy elsewhere. This is a relative oasis on a very busy coastline and we liked it so much that we decided to stay for another 10 days!
We got a warm welcome on arrival and the staff were always helpful with any questions we had. As our Italian was from a phrase book, they would sometimes ask us to write our question on the computer which would then translate it. It made life a lot simpler. We had a continental breakfast each morning and most of the time there was a good variety. Our room also had a lovely view of Mount Vesuvius. We had our dinner there one night and it was delicious.
We had a really relaxing and chilled out holiday. Hotel very clean and staff attentive, very friendly, courteous, willing to please at all times. Good menu in restaurant and again staff excellent. Own pool and private beach a bonus. Wonderful views across bay to Vesuvius from our room - we booked a superior room and it was. For us the location was excellent, away from busy town centres, and an ideal base for touring the local sites, the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast. We had use of a rental car and getting out and about was no problem, but we also used both public transport and the hotel's shuttle bus to get to and from Sorrento and once we got used to the timetable found it fairly convenient and it did not detract from a wonderful holiday.
Lovely Yacht, our superior cabin was comfortable and roomy with an en-suite. The lady that looked after us was very friendly and helpfull and organised a delicious dinner onboard for us both, we were the only guests onbaord that night.
Only negatives I am sorry to point out are, it was hard to locate the yacht within the marina on arrival by car, they had to come and get us at the main marina building after we had asked there for help. They were doing maintaince on deck of our yacht while we were staying onboard, getting ready for an upcoming charter, so a bit disruptive and also meant we had no TV available that night in our cabin as the satellite dish had been taken away.
Lastly the credit card reader terminal to pay for our accomodation when leaving was unable to connect to the internet, kept failing, which the staff seemed to be aware of as an ongoing issue, they tried five times. I ended up having to pay cash leaving me short of funds(then had trouble finding a working ATM later to replenish my cash, and no banks open as a holiday) later I noticed five charges pending on my CC when I checked the balance online, so obviously the charges had gone through somehow, luckly these were cancelled as my CC provider must have queried five consecutive charges with the merchant(Not the sort of issues you want to be chasing on a holiday)
