“A little bit of paradise”

Loved this Hotel. Its a little bit of paradise with its tranquil blue and white decor, attentive staff and quiet position. The setting, up a steep hill, appears inconvenient at first but staff will zip you into the Port or the bus stop in the multipla and collect you when you call them. The setting has its advantages - superb view across the sea to Vesuvius (you get this view from your room if you upgrade to a superior room which we thought was well worth it) and bordering the mountain forest in the other direction. We woke to birdsong and sunshine in the mornings; very relaxing. The pool is small (but the hotel is only 500m from the thermal water park) and there are several areas of loungers and chairs by the pool, the terrace and roof terrace. I wouldn't say that its suitable here for children who cannot quietly entertain themselves. Staff were very helpful with advice, maps and information about trips to take and the hotel food was excellent ; buffet breakfast and, if you choose half board, a 4 course Italian evening meal with a choice of 3 main courses. Whilst we were there (May '11) the hotel was popular with Italians on holiday; we were the only Brits there but were made to feel welcome. The hotel had a computer with free internet access and a book rack for exchanging paperbacks. I want to go back, it was a truly relaxing break.

“Chic Boutique hotel in beautiful surroundings”

The Hotel was so charming with staff to match. They are so welcoming and helpful and keen to ensure you enjoy your stay. The hotel is all white which contrasts amazing with the blue pool and sky - really chic. We had a garden room which was adequate for our stay - my friend had a room in the main hotel overlooking the sea, really beautiful. Breakfast was efficient and relaxed. Lunch was served around the pool and was delicious - the best pasta on the island. Dinner was a set menu. We tended to go out most evenings to sample the islands cuisine. Whilst most people want to explore the island the hotel is also so good just to chill out at. We spent a few days around the pool and in the garden surrounded by the beautiful flowers, vegitation and amazing view of the volcano. There is a shuttle bus to take you down the hill to the bus stop, but we tended to walk down, it was so lovely through the wooded trees - although a little steep in some places. We walked to Cassimiciola and to Lacco Amenio day and evening, and then visited the other amazing places on the island via the bus which is only 1.40 euros - bargain!! Overall we had a lovely stay at this hotel and would recommend it to friends. It even has its own indoor thermal pool and sauna. The staff were so nice and all said goodbye before the driver took us down to the port for our ferry home.

“Perfect romantic holiday hotel”

My boyfriend and I spent at week at the Grifo Hotel de Charme this July and it was truly the best holiday we have ever had. We have already recommended it to several people, including my boss! The room was very comfortable, breakfast was good and if we felt like staying in for the evening, the hotel restaurant provided a lovely set menu that changed each day. The hotel staff were very welcoming and always friendly. They had helpful suggestions for getting about the island and were happy to organise day trips to other islands and coastal towns such as Positano, Amalfi, Capri. They went out of their way to help us and we felt like old friends when we left at the end of the week. Highly recommended!

“Class and Luxury in the Most Beautiful Surroundings”

I Booked this Holiday as a suprise for my wifes 40th.I didnt know what to expect when i arrived in Ischia as it was my first time,I dont like big Hotels so The Hotel Grifo seemed ideal. Well Ideal isnt the word,Perfect i would use.The Hotel is amazing the location looking out over Ischia Bay amazing,the staff very friendly and accomadating,the restuarant and food amazing,the room had its own hydro sauna shower outside on the patio,Theres also a Big Sauna room and spa in the hotel grounds also a wonderful pool with jacuzzi. Our stay was for six days and we were treated very well indeed we had an amazing time and are looking to return sooner rather than later,I dont mean to be rude but it was a breath of fresh air to not have lager louts of any nationality around us but relaxed and like minded people,and dont be put off by the chicness,the hotel Grifo was very reasonable indeed and dont be ignorant a little Italian goes a long way. So if you like to immerse yourself in culture relax and sample the local food which is fish caught daily and fresh then this is definately the place for you. You Will Not Be Dissapointed Mr A is The Man If you like your clothes and the latest fashion then hit Ischia town in the evening you'll be amazed. Once again absolutely wonderful time Grazie Tanto

“Hôtel Grifo : le top du top pour visiter Ischia !”

Un hôtel magnifique, un accueil hors normes, un personnel toujours disponible et souriant, un cadre de rêve... L'hôtel Grifo est vraiment super ! Légèrement en retrait de la route principale avec un accès via une petite route en montée (mais on s'y fait dès le 2ème jour, au pire l'hôtel dispose d'une navette pour vous descendre et remonter), l'hôtel est cependant parfaitement situé car au calme et à quelques minutes seulement de la ville. L'hôtel en lui-même est très beau, propre, avec une belle piscine et de superbes terrasses dégagées et bien équipées (transats, parasols...). Un grand merci à l'équipé incroyablement sympa, qui nous a donné de très bons conseils pour les lieux à visiter. Bref, un hôtel que je recommande plus que vivement!

Das Hotel liegt sehr ruhig am Hang mit herrlichem Blick auf den Golf von Neapel. Die Zimmer sind großzügig, geschmackvoll und praktisch eingerichtet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Service des familiengeführten Hotels, das Personal hilft jederzeit freundlich bei allen Fragen , so dass man wirklich entspannen kann. Pool, Dachterasse, Thermalbad, Dampfbad und ein umfangreiches Beauty- und Wellnessangabot lassen keine Wünsche offen. Dank des hauseigenen Shuttle-Service ist auch die etwas abgelegene Lage keineswegs ein Problem, sondern eher ein Vorteil. Exzellent auch das Hotelrestaurant, raffinierte italienische Küche zum moderaten Preis, ebenfalls mit perfektem Service. Für einen angenehmen, entspannten Urlaub, ob zu zweit oder alleine, sehr empfehlenswert.

“Grifo Hotel Ischia - Pulito, moderno personale cortesissimo”

Arredamento minimal, moderno e funzionale ma non freddo. Estremamente pulito, il contrario di alcuni alberghi vecchi e polverosi che si trovano sull'isola. Piacevoli le camere che danno sul giardino. L'albergo è a metà strada fra Casamicciola e Ischia, in cima ad una ripida salita, piacevole da fare a piedi perchè in mezzo ad una pineta, ma faticoso. Però basta telefonare in hotel e, in men che non si dica, arriva la navetta, anche solo per fare la salita. Personale, fra cui spicca Claudio per gentilezza ed efficienza, molto cortese e disponibile. In generale, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
