This hotel has a very nice location, unfortunately it is impossible to reach by car as the center of this city is a pedestrial area so we had to leave the car in a parking garage -not free, about € 12 per day- and walk for 600 m with our luggage, which was very uncomfortable.
The hotel is in a lovely situation in front of a small tree-lined square and has been beautifully converted from an old palace. It was very clean and quiet - our room was at the back - with spacious bedroom and bathroom. Didn't try any food in the hotel so can't comment.

The room was big and well appointed, new condition and very clean. Location is outstanding. Wifi worked well. The hotel is not accessible by car and there are no parking facilities nearby. There is no reception and you have to call a number to get the key. Great value for money.
Hotel with a secure car park was a bonus. Good central location. I do not understand those reviewers who could not find hotel from car park!! very easy less than 5 mins walk away.
We opted to take breakfast outside of the hotel (cheaper option, always is). Rooms are very traditional, dark wood but everything you need is there, including a TV if you want one.
Good value for a comfortable, clean and centrally located hotel.

This is a terrific hotel! It's just a few feet from the Plaza Mayor (which is convenient but if you have a room facing the Plaza it will be very noisy at night). The rooms are spacious and very clean. The cost is reasonable and in my opinion one of the best value for Euro we experienced during our 3 week stay in Spain. And you get a free breakfast to boot. The staff is excellent! We had a problem which required us to stay in Caceres for two additional days and Rafael was immensely helpful in enabling us to cancel transportation and accommodation bookings. Hats off to Rafael!

"Centuries old buildings, modern service / comfort"
This parador regularly gets high marks for location in a historic city and for the successful makeover to provide modern facilities. The hotel seems fully disability friendly but steep medieval streets and stairways between parts of town and narrow cobbled streets make it problematic for those with mobility issues. Oh, don't expect easy car access or parking.

Casa Don Fernando is in an original palacio in the plaza Mayor of Caceres. This means it is right in the heart of the town, giving fantastic access to the old walled centre, literally right across the plaza. We were impressed with our room and the overall hotel (we had a superior room). Our room was thoughtfully decorated, and the overall internal appearance of the hotel was smart, respectful of the building, but also interesting and modern. We really enjoyed staying here (and after travelling for the past several months, this statement means what it says). HINT: As the hotel is in the Plaza Mayor and in an old building, its parking is not adjacent. Our GPS had great trouble finding the place, and our booking voucher did not give coordinates. Have a good look at the website for the hotel rather than relying on booking agencies, as you will find both a map and instructions on how to unload suitcases and find parking.
