Beautiful hotel on a quiet but perfectly located street. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and the entire property was extremely clean, tranquil, and quiet. Our room was very spacious, with two queen beds and a high ceiling — and excellent air conditioning! The Netflix was an added bonus :)

Such a nice boutique hotel in the heart of old town Cartagena !! The staff were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful! The rooms are cozy with great air conditioning! The breakfast is amazingly with such kind and generous chefs!!

Great location, great staff and a little oasis in the middle of Cartagena. My only slight was that we didn’t have hot water for the shower. As they found a slightly larger room so we could fit in a cot, I was still appreciative and happy to overlook. Thanks for a lovely stay.

This hotel was perfect for us. From the minute we walked in we felt welcomed. All the staff are so pleasant and amazing. I was there for my birthday and they surprised me with a delicious cake and song in my room. It felt special. The hotel is beautiful and so relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and there were many options but the typical Colombian food was our favorite. The location is perfect and you can walk to just about all the tourist attractions and great restaurants. We will definitely be back soon.

I recently stayed at Hotel Bantu by Faranda Boutique, and it was fantastic! The staff was incredibly friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was ideal for exploring the city. I highly recommend this hotel for an excellent experience. Love it!

Great location.
Great location. In walking distance to food and entertainment. Great staff especially German. I hope he is appreciated. He’s an asset to Bantu. Great continental breakfast. Lots of choices. Great service. No ceiling on the bathroom shower, so you’re exposed to all the elements. It rained a lot while I was there , so rain came in. The mini bar/frig is well stocked. Nice pool, but I didn’t use it.

Great staff! It's a very charming combination of two old casas that are tastefully merged together. Combines modern conveniences with old world charm. The breakfasts are lovely, with comfort foods and also Colombian specialties, handmade in their kitchen, fresh everyday. Loved our stay!

I will preface this review by saying I ultimately cancelled my reservation and did not stay overnight. Upon arrival around 4:15pm I was told my room wasn’t ready as they let a large group have late check out (check in time is 3pm). I was asked to wait 30 min so I sat in the lobby. As I waited a very large group came in and half were escorted directly to my room. After 45 min of waiting I had to request an update from staff who seem to have forgotten I was waiting. I was then taken to a room by a busboy without being told room number or given the key. When he realized I didn’t have a key, he left to retrieve it and that’s when I looked around. The room was tiny without any windows. The door to hallway was beautiful but did nothing to block out sound and the nail in the coffin for me was that the bed was wet when I sat on it. When I alerted the staff member he tried to explain they used some spray on the sheets but either way a guest should not be given a room with a wet bed. At this point there were enough things flagging that I decided I would be more comfortable somewhere else. When I told staff this and requested a cancellation they tried to offer a different room and then a different hotel in their network all together. I appreciated the gesture but after all the waiting I didn’t want to play musical hotels and decided to return to another hotel I had previously stayed. I think perhaps this hotel could be good if you are younger or want a more hostel like environment.

A wonderful authentic feeling hotel. We had a wonderful stay and everything was perfect. From the hand cooked fresh breakfast to relaxing in the inner courtyard by the pool. Our room was amazing, simple and retained the colonial house spirit.

This was a beautiful property which was located within the walled city, very convenient to numerous shops and restaurants. The property itself was really remarkable and very well maintained, with the exception of a leak in the roof in our bedroom suite. The leak was not excessive and did not affect our use of the room, so it was not a big deal for us. The staff were very friendly and eager to help, especially German. There were two swimming pools and a jazuzzi, and the stay included a really lovely breakfast. Plus, the rooms are very well air conditioned! We would definitely stay here again.

Loved my stay at Hotel Bantu. The staff were amazing - Herman and Brenda went out of their way to help. The hotel is beautiful and unique. I felt very safe as a solo female traveller. Only complaint is that I didn't feel like the floors or shower were cleaned properly, and always had a gritty sandy feel.

The place has a swimming pool and tub in the top roof and swimming pool in the first floor. The staff is excellent and very professional. The location is very convenient because is in the downtown area and close too everything. My son, my husband and I had a great vacation time at this hotel. We felt safe and comfortable. Thanks.

Pros - Beautiful property - Great location right in the heart of the walled city - Friendly and helpful staff Cons - Room had almost no natural light and very lim lamps. Very dark - There is a water fountain in the middle of the courtyard which is on all day and so loud in the rooms that it sounded like the shower in my room was running constantly. - Member of cleaning staff walked into my room without knocking Overall a pleasant stay, but not quite the high quality I’d expect for the price

The room was lovely and comfortable with good beds and dark window shades, very quiet and protected from street noise. The inner courtyards were beautiful. The roof pool was small with no shady areas; I’d love to see them put into use the small pool bar (abandoned) to create a more welcoming and family fun haven. I also wish they would update to water saving plumbing fixtures.

The service was excellent! Every person working at the hotel was super helpful and nice. The location is great. You can walk anywhere from the hotel. The first night they have us a room with window to the street and it was too noisy. We changed rooms and it was perfect. We loved the rustic details on every part of the hotel. In general we had a great stay there :)

Checking was a little slower. Arrived at 4:00 pm and they have to check several times to make sure the room was ready. Also, Expedia should mentioned the documents required for checking in for minors. They are requesting passport and the stamp from immigration as well as vaccination records. Thanks I did have records digitally but at the beginning the staff wanted to see originals. Other than that the hotel, staff, rooms were amazing!

Hotel Bantu is the best hotel in Cartagena Walled City. Is clean; staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The Bantu Hotel located in the city center, clean and comfortable.The hotel room, the garden and the wellness area are beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious, I highly recommend this hotel for the tourist.

I will recommend this hotel to everyone
This was my second time staying in Bantu Hotel and I would gladly stay there every time I'm in Cartagena. Great value, the location is within walking distance of great bars and restaurants and the staff went out of their way to make me truly feel at home and taken care of.
